My daughter turns 18 this June. I want to place a ad in her dance recital program, kinda making a big deal over her. But I am at a loss for words. Anyone have a poem or saying to suggest?

Thanks for any and all ideas!

Carol

My Daughter Is...OK, I totally "borrowed" this from the web somewhere...just an idea! And it would be easy to make it "Our" instead of "My" if you needed to do that. :)

My Daughter Is...

My daughter is a treasure,
a blessing from above.
She’s laughter, warmth, and special charm,
she’s beauty, and she’s love.

My daughter brings a special joy
that comes from deep inside.
So thoughtful, sweet and caring,
she fills my heart with pride.

With every year that passes,
she’s more special than before...
through every stage, through every age,
I love her even more.

That poem is beautiful Katie!

My daughter has taken dance since age 3 and was on the high-school dance team. When she graduated I placed the lyrics to "I Hope You Dance" in her senior ad. Still can't read that without choking up! I'm not great with words so it helped me out and was perfect. Might be a little sappy for a birthday but here are the lyrics!

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat, but always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed

I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance

Chorus: And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance,
I hope you dance (dance), I hope you dance (dance)

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Livin’ might mean takin’ chances, but they're worth takin’
Lovin’ might be a mistake but it's worth makin’
Don't let some hell bent heart leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out, reconsider
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance,
I hope you dance.. (time is a wheel in constant motion always)
I hope you dance... (rolling us along)
I hope you dance...(tell me who wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
I hope you dance.... (where those years have gone)

I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean,
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens,
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance,

dance (dance) (hold for 2 4 counts), I hope you dance (dance),
I hope you dance... (dance) (time is wheel in constant motion always)
I hope you dance...(rolling us along)
I hope you dance (dance) (tell me who wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
I hope you dance.. (dance)(where those years have gone)
(tell me(dance) who wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
(where(dance) those years have gone)

Great Ideas! Thanks ladies.

Anybody else???

What about collecting pics from her years of dance and this year - almost like "this is your life" - then have the chorus from above.
