I've made the Molten Chocolate Skillet Brownie at shows a number of times now and I had a customer ask if it could be done in a Corning Ware type dish. Has anyone tried this in anything other than cookware? Just thought I'd throw it out there and ask. She also asked about using a different size pan for it, but it's so hard to tell how long to cook it if it's a smaller pan, therefore a deeper dessert.

I haven't tried making the Molten Chocolate Skillet Brownie in anything other than cookware, but I'm curious to know how it would turn out. I think the timing would be an issue when using a smaller pan as it would create a deeper dessert. Has anyone else had any experience with this?

I have not personally tried making the Molten Chocolate Skillet Brownie in a Corning Ware dish, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. The main thing to keep in mind is that the dish should be oven-safe and able to withstand high temperatures. As for using a different size pan, I would recommend adjusting the cooking time accordingly. If the pan is smaller, the brownie will likely cook faster, so keep an eye on it and check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a different type of pan for the Molten Chocolate Skillet Brownie recipe?

Yes, you can use different types of pans such as a ceramic baker, glass dish, or even a cast iron skillet. Just keep in mind that cooking times may vary depending on the material and thickness of the pan.

How does the baking time change when using a different baker for the Molten Chocolate Skillet Brownie?

Baking time may vary based on the type of pan you use. For example, glass pans may require a slightly longer baking time, while metal pans may cook faster. It's best to start checking for doneness a few minutes earlier than the recipe suggests.

Can I make the Molten Chocolate Skillet Brownie in a muffin pan?

Yes, you can make individual brownies in a muffin pan. Just adjust the baking time to about 15-20 minutes, checking for a gooey center to ensure they are molten.

Will using a non-stick pan affect the outcome of the Molten Chocolate Skillet Brownie?

Using a non-stick pan can help prevent sticking and make for easier cleanup. However, it may also affect the browning of the edges. Keep an eye on the brownies to ensure they don't overbake.

What adjustments should I make if I use a larger or smaller pan for the Molten Chocolate Skillet Brownie?

If you use a larger pan, the brownie will be thinner and may bake faster, so reduce the baking time. Conversely, a smaller pan will result in a thicker brownie, requiring a longer baking time. Always check for doneness with a toothpick.
