Me too. I haven't used mine and I loved the old one. I hope these are just flukes.PampMomof3 said:Now I'm going to have to try mine tonight!![]()
It probably isn't the case, but I found it interesting that you say peeling with your left hand it works...I am left-handed and haven't ever had a problem with the old or new peeler.jennifer flick said:ME TOO! I was wondering if mine had a defect. If peeling with my left hand it works, but not w/my right unless I am pulling inward. That can be dangerous!![]()
jenniferknapp said:I feel the same about most ergonomic peelers, and default back to the old style ones... I haven't tried ours, but was worried that this may happen. Definitely call HO and maybe they will send out a replacement and yours is a defect? (hopefully)
With all the hoopla around here, I thought it was time that I pulled that out. My DH moderates a forum that's had some problems, and he's got things like that on the top of every page so that the forum doesn't get sued if one member badmouths another or gives bad advice.chefkitty said:PS Ann why do you have the special disclaimer on post? just wondering
The main issues reported with the new Veggie Peeler included difficulty in peeling certain vegetables, the handle being uncomfortable for prolonged use, and the blade not being sharp enough to efficiently peel tougher skins.
Attendees expressed disappointment with the Veggie Peeler's performance, noting that it did not meet their expectations based on previous experiences with other Pampered Chef products. Some attendees even preferred to use older models or other brands instead.
Some attendees appreciated the design and aesthetic of the Veggie Peeler, noting that it looked modern and was easy to clean. A few also mentioned that it worked well on softer vegetables like tomatoes and cucumbers.
The consultant received mixed feedback, with many attendees suggesting improvements such as a sharper blade and a more ergonomic handle. Some attendees also recommended testing the product on a wider variety of vegetables before promoting it at shows.
While the Veggie Peeler may still be featured in future shows, the consultant indicated that they would likely provide a disclaimer about its performance and consider gathering more feedback before promoting it heavily. They may also explore alternative products that received better reviews.
