Hey Everybody,
I had a show over the weekend, and one of the guests had asked me if we still have the stone that you put in your brown sugar to keep it soft. I told her I did not think so, but I would look into it for her. Does anyone know what she is talking about? Please help.

Thanks,
Debbie

I don't know nothing about the stone to keep the brown suguar soft, but I know that if you put you brown sugar in a tupperware container and put a slice of bread on top , it will keep you brown sugar soft

I have seen a stone that you put in your brown sugar to keep it soft. I think my pastor's wife has one. It is not Pampered Chef. I don't know what makes it work. I will try to remember where she got it and if she knows how it works.

I have one of these - it's a little clay bear. You put it into your brown sugar and it absorbs any moisture and prevents your sugar from getting hard.To my knowledge, PC doesn't make one. You can find them in just about any kitchen store.

Former consultantThis woman said she used to be a PC consultant years ago, and that is where she got it from. I've never heard of this but thought maybe one of you have. Thanks for the input.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What type of stone can I use to soften brown sugar?

You can use a Pampered Chef Baking Stone or a similar unglazed ceramic stone. These stones retain moisture and heat, making them ideal for softening brown sugar.

2. How do I prepare the stone for softening brown sugar?

To prepare the stone, soak it in water for about 30 minutes. This allows the stone to absorb moisture, which will then be released to soften the brown sugar.

3. How long does it take for the stone to soften brown sugar?

Once the stone is prepared and placed with the brown sugar in an airtight container, it typically takes about 1-2 hours for the sugar to soften. For best results, leave it overnight.

4. Can I use a microwave to soften brown sugar with the stone?

Yes, you can use the microwave. Place the stone with the brown sugar in the microwave for about 20-30 seconds. Be sure to monitor it closely to avoid melting the sugar.

5. What if my brown sugar is rock hard and doesn't soften?

If the brown sugar is extremely hard, you may need to repeat the soaking process with the stone or try adding a slice of bread or an apple to the container with the sugar. These items will help introduce moisture and soften the sugar more quickly.
