That $3.69 gas yesterday turned to $3.89 this morning.

Our gas has been $3.99 for a few weeks. Did go down to $3.89 for two days and then back up to $3.99 now!

Pretty much what I expected. Around here, the jump only appears to be about a dime, but there's always tomorrow.

3.99 here last night when I chose to heed KG's warning and filled my tank. This morning it's at 4.16
OUCH
Thank KG!!

I'm growing corn for my own fuel! LOL kidding...maybe I could make some gas from the toots of bovines?

Well, we had our jump here... This morning regular was $3.95 (or was it $3.93... it's been weirder than weird lately)... just went past the station around the corner: it's now $4.07 for regular... the other week when it went up it stopped short of $4/gallon so this was quite a shock for around here... even knowing it's coming, it's still a smack when it happens.

Funny - if YOU grow corn and try to make it into alcohol, the revenuers will be there to bust up your still and haul your butt to jail.

But if you're a lobbying group and pay off the right people, they'll pay YOU 51¢ a gallon to distill it.

What is wrong with this picture?

Actually, some folks using veggie oil to run their cars are finding themselves "tax evaders" by the long arm of the tax laws... so you don't even need to grow it, just take some used oil off your neighborhood restaurateur's hands and put it in your car and look out. Vegetable oil fuels cars -- and tax bills - Los Angeles Times

Amazing, isn't it? Your tax dollars at work, making sure they collect more tax dollars.

And what's really ridiculous is that we're under a Republican government and the Republican party was started with an emphasis on LESS governmental involvement and smaller government. Yeesh.

With a Democrat controlled, do-nothing Congress. If you look up "useless" in the dictionary, you'll find pictures of Nancy Pelosi and Dingy Harry Reid.
