I'm so upset!

My hubby used a couple of bamboo pieces last night, and left them overnight in the pile of dirty dishes. Now they look HORRIBLE -- one almost looks green and splotchy, and the other has black spots that make it look moldy.

I had no idea that the bamboo would turn funny colors like that. Nothing I've tried (including the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser) has helped. I'm horribly disappointed.

Bummer- I'd comment more, but you don't want me to get started on how disappointing our bamboo is- or should I say the bamboo that I purchased was a disappointment to me...

You didn't hear this from me, but I've had better luck with the Bamboo I purchased at Target. (Shhhh, it's a secret)

I've never had a problem with our bamboo. I like it! You could try soaking it in hot soapy water.

RETURN IT! It's under warranty.

I too haven't had any problems with our bamboo, I would call and have it replaced.

I intentionally use the bamboo at shows when I'm using strawberries, then pop them in the dishwsher and voila, good as new.

Return yours to HO.

I guess this would be a good lesson for me in how to get our products exchanged. I'll dig around and see if I can find my receipt and figure out how this works. (Got it as a host benefit off a march show booked off my show before I became a consultant.)

thanks for the encouragement gang.

All you need is the date that you had the show, if you were the host it should be easy. Just call HO and they will send you new ones.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do if my bamboo pieces have warped?

If your bamboo pieces have warped, try soaking them in warm water for a few minutes to help them regain their shape. After soaking, gently reshape them and allow them to dry completely before using them again. Avoid exposing them to extreme heat or moisture in the future to prevent further warping.

Can I still use my bamboo pieces if they have developed cracks?

While minor cracks may not affect the functionality of your bamboo pieces, it's best to avoid using them for food preparation if they are significantly damaged. Cracks can harbor bacteria, so consider replacing them if they are extensive or compromise the integrity of the product.

How can I prevent my bamboo pieces from getting ruined in the future?

To prevent damage to your bamboo pieces, always hand wash them with mild soap and warm water instead of placing them in the dishwasher. Avoid soaking them for long periods and keep them away from direct heat sources. Regularly apply food-safe mineral oil to maintain their finish and prevent drying out.

Is there a warranty or replacement policy for damaged bamboo pieces?

Pampered Chef offers a satisfaction guarantee on their products, including bamboo items. If your bamboo pieces are damaged due to a manufacturing defect, you may be eligible for a replacement. Contact Pampered Chef customer service with your order details and photos of the damage for assistance.

What are the best cleaning practices for my bamboo kitchenware?

To clean your bamboo kitchenware, use a soft sponge or cloth with mild soap and warm water. Avoid soaking them or using abrasive cleaners, as this can damage the surface. After washing, dry them thoroughly with a towel and store them in a cool, dry place to maintain their quality.
