Was wondering what the rack is like that is in the roasting pan? Is it flat to the bottom of the roaster or does it slant? Thanks for the help!!

It has a rounded bottom with legs to keep it above the pan.

I used mine for the first time today (bought it over a year ago, but DH usually fries the turkey.....not today!). My turkey was delish! and the pan was a breeze to clean! My neighbor was here and she wants one now - wish I could talk her into getting it in the next few days.....

I rarely use it for turkeys, but on the stovetop as a griddle. I can cook a dozen eggs or a dozen strips of bacon. I can cook 6 cheese sandwiches, etc. It is the best!

Wow, that's awesome info to know! I just bought it for my grandma's christmas gift so I will give her that extra tip!;)

Before I earned the 12" SS pan, I brought my roasting pan to my shows for all the dishes that required a large pan. It works great! We literally use the roasting pan daily, with our 3 kids. It works better than the griddle because the sides are so much higher. Your eggs won't run over.

I did a double batch of Jambalaya on my stovetop last Labor Day for my family. It worked amazing!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a roasting pan rack used for?

A roasting pan rack is used to elevate meat or vegetables above the bottom of the roasting pan, allowing for even cooking and better air circulation. It helps to prevent the food from sitting in its own juices, which can lead to sogginess, and promotes browning and crisping.

Is the roasting pan rack dishwasher safe?

Yes, most roasting pan racks are dishwasher safe, making them easy to clean. However, it's always best to check the manufacturer's instructions to ensure proper care and maintenance.

Can I use the roasting pan rack for baking?

While the primary purpose of a roasting pan rack is for roasting, it can also be used for baking purposes, such as cooling baked goods or elevating dishes in the oven. Just ensure that it fits well within your baking pan or oven space.

What materials are roasting pan racks made from?

Roasting pan racks are typically made from materials like stainless steel, which is durable and resistant to rust, or non-stick coated materials for easy food release. Some racks may also be made from heavy-duty metal for added strength.

How do I choose the right size roasting pan rack?

To choose the right size roasting pan rack, measure the dimensions of your roasting pan and select a rack that fits comfortably inside. It should not touch the sides of the pan to allow for proper air circulation and cooking. Additionally, consider the size of the food you plan to roast to ensure it fits on the rack.
