I'm so saddened to hear that John Travolta and Kelly Preston's son, Jett, passed away this morning while on a family vacation in the Bahamas. They are saying that he had a seizure and fell in the bathtub. Prayers to the Travolta at this extremely sad time. I have always liked John Travolta and know how much he worships his family.

Losing a child would have to be one of life's worst things imaginable...celebrity or not. That is one of the more "fun" Hollywood families, and it must be so devastating for them. Prayers for strength and healing.

I know, horrible! And I hate the way the media depicts things. On the local news it was described as a "self inflicted" injury. I guess that could mean anything, but if I hadn't already heard it would have made me think maybe he had taken his own life.

They just said that his son is prone to coxsackieviruses can cause infections of the muscles, joints, heart, testes, nerves, or brain.

I was reading some background on his son and there was/is speculation that he has had autism and was never treated or acknowledged due to their Scientologist beliefs. Soo..if he truly had this, or any other disorder and was never treated for it, shame on them. Again, this is what I read on the internet, so it could all be speculation, but there were several websites that listed this as something Jett had. Do a search of Jett Travolta and there are different articles about it.
 
I agree they should have treated is autism if that is what he had. But that may not have made any difference in this outcome. From what I read he had a seizure and hit is head in the bathroom. No matter what it is sad that any child dies I feel so bad for them.

I guess Jett suffered from seizures- he apparently had one while getting out of the tub, slipped and fell and cracked his head. :(
 
Did you notice though the reports are saying that he was last seen going into the bathroom on Thursday but wasn't found till 10am on Friday. Then in the video he is having to be lead to the car and buckled in by someone else but there was noone to check to see if he came out of the bathroom?? I don't understand that.
 
It sounds like he might have had some special circumstances, so he probably should have been checked. However, I don't think that the fact he wasn't is necessarily an issue. At 16, it's possible that he had a separate room. Whoever escorted him (for security reasons) to the room probably saw him go in and head straight to the bathroom. He had made it back safely, so they left the area. The family is on vacation in the Bahamas. People probably assumed he was a teenager sleeping late. Again, I'm assuming that he had a separate room or area of a suite.
 
My heart goes out to the family. I cannot imagine losing a child. I would be devastated if something happened to one of mine. Our small rural town has seen a lot of loss the last several years. Several 16 yr olds, a 15 year old and a 19 year old in car accidents, and a 12 year old to a 4-wheeler accident and a small child was hit in the chest with a baseball and died. Just the feelings I had through these deaths was devastating, I can't imagine if it was my own child.

I like John Travolta. I don't agree with his "religion" but I still like him...ever since Welcome Back Carter...
