I bought a Body by Jake Bun & Thigh Rocker from Craigslist. I forgot to ask if the item came from a smoke-free home. :yuck: It REEKS!!:yuck: Does anyone know how to get the smoke smell from hard objects? It is not a soft material that Febreze would work on. It is a padded pleather material and metal frame. I know there is a Heloise junkie on here with the perfect tip.

Thanks!

Have you wiped it down with a cloth dampened with vinegar? I have no personal experience with that, but vinegar is a miracle liquid. :)

I got this from Yahoo...its for walls, but its the only thing I could find that would work on a surface other then couches etc.

* Wash the walls and ceilings. Try mixing up one gallon of warm water, one half cup of ammonia, one quarter cup of vinegar, and one quarter cup of washing soda. Work your way up from the baseboards to the ceiling while you clean, making sure to change the solution often.

I second what Vanessa said... been there, done that- had to do it for my ENTIRE house that I currently live in. It worked!

Fabreeze might work also. Years ago when my DD got too big for the booster car seat I stored it in our shed until DS would use it. Well, I forgot that my DH also stored the lawn mower in the same shed. Fast forward a year or two, I take it out for DS to use and you guessed it, it stinks like cut grass! I sprayed it with Fabreeze and left it out in the sun for an hour or two and it was as good as new. HTH

Cut grass smells better then smoke:yuck:

I'd try the vinegar too and leave it outside over night.

Thanks for the tip!! Now when they say "washing soda" do they mean like a Borax type thing or Tide or just any type of granualated washing powder?

Borax or tide or any type :) I myself find Borax the best.

I'd try wrapping it in newspaper too and if possible setting it in the sun

Hope the tip works...again it isnt my own...but let us know the outcome.
