Are these Cool Crunchy Chicken Tacos worth trying this summer?

Hey, Dot -- Some people think cilantro tastes like soap (I love it, though). Maybe that is what your daughter was tasting? Thanks for the feedback on these. Love the layered salad idea. Haven't tried to make them myself yet.:)

Throwing a Party: Tips for Managing 25 Guests

I just had a show with 23 guests. I brought a friend who would help me add up orders (now I'm setting up a recruiting interview with her!) I made two recipes. I took four bags and stocked them with the tools for each step of the recipe. I retyped each step in large, bold print and slipped each...

Need Game Suggestions for an All-Male Cooking Show?

My husband is hosting a March Madness show for his friends (his idea!) I've never done an all-man show before! I'm going to make the mini cheeseburgers and have the Artichoke Bread Bowl ready when they arrive. My hubby is going to make the DCB cake himself just to show how easy it is. Normally I...

Delicious Vegan Recipe Ideas for Your Next Cooking Demonstration - Marion's Tips

I have made the chicken, avocado and grapefruit salad when there was going to be a vegan at a party. I just set the chicken aside for the non-vegans and you can sub margarine for the butter in the cashew-nut topping (might want to check if the sweet caramel sprinkle is vegan, though - otherwise...

Good Recipes for a Wine & Cheese Party?

Hi, Chef Kearns - just 4 people at the show and a couple outside orders, so my comm. sales were $350. I did book a January show, though! I did a lot of the California shrimp roll stuff ahead, too - more hands-on than the meatballs, though. I do have to say that those rolls cannot be made ahead...

Good Recipes for a Wine & Cheese Party?

Made the chili-lime meatballs for a show and my guests were RAVING! It was a fairly small party my sister was hosting, so I made some Jasmine rice to go alongside and also made the California Spring Rolls - delicious. I actually measured out the glaze ingredients into pinch and prep bowls ahead...

Troubleshooting Cookie Press: What Went Wrong with My First Batch?

sometimes, to preserve a cookie's shape, you can put it in the freezer for about 10 minutes before baking. Press the cookies onto parchment sheets and then you can just trade out sheets when the pans are ready. Good luck!

Candy Pecans for Harvest Chicken Salad Demo?

Take a look at the recipe for Chicken, Avocado and Grapefruit Salad. This is a way to candy cashews using the Sweet Caramel Sprinkle. I have done it for a show in the 8" saute pan. Because of the cooling time on the parchment, I did it ahead and saved some for people to taste while I "acted out"...

Urgent Help!! Honey Brie Bites - Wrong Pastry!!

Went to four stores here in LA and could only find mini phyllo shells at a very high-end specialty store. After all that, my host's oven broke! We put slices of brie on Triscuits, topped with the apple mixture and microwaved on her small bar pan. Everyone loved them anyway, but I won't be...

Can I Replace Just the Lid on My DCB?

My DCB's handle popped off. I just got it in April. I called HO. I had to ship the lid only back (it cost $12.75 to ship). They sent me an entire, new baker. However, plan ahead to borrow someone else's because the whole process took about 5 weeks! Great to have one back in rotation. Good luck!

What's for Dinner? October 15: Need Some Meal Inspiration?

I used the leftover chicken from the DCB 30-minute chicken and mixed it with some softened cream cheese, a little butter and milk, some diced onion and red pepper, salt and pepper. Used crescent dough (separated into 4 rectangles) to scoop it on and gathered up the corners to make little purses...
