I don't have that cookbook, but I've made curry before. The more curry pwdr you add, the hotter it is. You could also add cayenne pepper. Hope this helps!

I heard that if you warm the cheese for a few sec. in microwave before putting it in the cheese grater, the oil from the cheese will help it to not stick.

I too had a hard time with the can opener until my husband played with it and figured it out. Now I can use it. Instead of holding it beside the can, you have to sortof point it to the can. Best way I can explain it. I'm scared of the USG, but I try to make sure I'm going slow and really paying...
