Why would this be unacceptable? If the host does all the money collection and chooses to make a single payment with his/her card, why is that a problem?

You have an entire show now hanging in the balance.
Example, one show, one credit card, 10 orders. All ten orders submitted and paid for on that card are now in question.
Same show, cash, checks and credit cards and then bad card.
You can get on the phone with the Home Office and cancel the orders attached to that card if you can not get it resolved with whomever and at least the rest of the orders can be shipped.
It is a simple choice of loosing an entire show or just some of the orders.

Yes, there are a few benefits to putting the entire show on one credit card. It can make it easier for the host to track expenses, and they may also earn rewards or cash back on their credit card for the purchases made during the show.
Yes, a host can choose to use a debit card instead of a credit card for the entire show. However, they may not earn any rewards or cash back on their purchases like they would with a credit card.
If a guest wants to pay with cash or check instead of a credit card, the host can still choose to put the entire show on one credit card. They can then collect the cash or check from the guest and pay off the credit card balance.
