OK. I guess I'm having an un-bright moment, but how exactly do you use nuts or chocolate chips in the Microplane Adjustable Grater? Each time I try to fill the food holder with nuts and then try to put it on the grater, the nuts go all over the counter. I have looked at the instructions, but I'm not seeing how to do this. Any suggestions?

Well...Well, my suggestion would be to put the food holder onto the Microplane BEFORE you put the food in. That's what I do, and I have never had a problem. :D

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use the Microplane Grater for grating both nuts and chocolate chips?

Yes, the Microplane Grater is versatile and can be used for grating both nuts and chocolate chips. Its sharp blades make it easy to achieve fine textures for both ingredients.

What types of nuts work best with the Microplane Grater?

Harder nuts like almonds, hazelnuts, and walnuts work best with the Microplane Grater. Softer nuts may not grate as well and could become mushy instead of achieving a fine texture.

How do I clean the Microplane Grater after using it for nuts and chocolate chips?

To clean the Microplane Grater, simply rinse it under warm water immediately after use. For tougher residues, you can use a soft brush or sponge. Avoid using abrasive cleaners that could damage the blades.

Can I grate chocolate chips directly from the bag?

Yes, you can grate chocolate chips directly from the bag. However, for the best results, consider using chocolate bars instead, as they tend to grate more evenly and produce a finer texture.

Is it safe to use the Microplane Grater for grating frozen chocolate or nuts?

It is not recommended to grate frozen chocolate or nuts, as they can be too hard and may damage the grater. Allow them to thaw slightly for easier grating and to protect the integrity of the tool.
