Ok so I have a host that I work with that is doing a fundraiser on April Fools Day, and to draw in people I was thinking of doing a food subtlety (a food item that looks like one thing but is really something else). Has anyone done one of these with a PC recipe? Any suggestions or ideas?

I used to make mini burgers and fries for the kids' birthday treats for school. Shoe string potatoes for the fries. The burgers are vanilla wafers with a thin chocolate cookie in the middle (meat) and frosting for cheese, lettuce, catsup. Then brush a dab of melted butter on the top cookie and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.

Wouldn't show many products but still fun: frostings could be in decorator bottles, other ingredients in different PC bowls/measuring tools/coating trays, melt butter in prep bowl, silicone brush to apply butter, SA dish to serve - maybe add fruit rollups as the lettuce or tomato and show cutting board and knife or professional shears.

One idea could be to make "cupcakes" that are actually meatloaf muffins with mashed potato frosting. You could also make "deviled eggs" that are actually mashed avocado and hummus stuffed into egg white halves. Another idea could be to make "sushi rolls" that are actually fruit roll-ups wrapped around rice crispy treats and gummy worms. You could also make "chocolate covered strawberries" that are actually cherry tomatoes dipped in chocolate and rolled in crushed nuts. Get creative and have fun with it!
