I wanted to make the churro recipe for tomorrow but realized that I only have 1 T of cinnamon sprinkles. The recipe calls for 4. I have a couple choices, what do you think would work best:
1 T cinnamon sprinkles and 3 T sweet apple sprinkles (do you think it would go well with the dip?)
1 T cinnamon sprinkle and some amount of cinnamon
Any other suggestions?

a simple cinnamon and light brown sugar mixture, shake it on with the Flour/Sugar Shaker

Oooh, yummy! Maybe I'll do half and half!

At our taste testing Cluster meeting, the consultant who made the churros used the apple sprinkles - and the Churros were the hit of the evening! They were so incredibly good - and so was the dip with them!

I have the ingredients to make these. Now I just need everyone home at the same time so I don't eat them all myself.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are cinnamon sprinkles and how can they enhance my churro recipe?

Cinnamon sprinkles are a blend of cinnamon and sugar that can be used to coat churros, adding a sweet and spicy flavor. They enhance your churro recipe by providing a deliciously aromatic topping that complements the warm, fried dough, making them even more irresistible.

Can I make my own cinnamon sprinkles at home?

Yes, you can easily make your own cinnamon sprinkles at home by mixing equal parts of granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Adjust the ratio to your taste preference, and feel free to add a pinch of nutmeg or vanilla for extra flavor.

What are some alternatives to cinnamon sprinkles for churros?

If you're looking for alternatives to cinnamon sprinkles, consider using flavored sugar blends like vanilla sugar, cocoa powder, or even a mix of powdered sugar and citrus zest. These can provide a unique twist to your churros while still adding sweetness and flavor.

How can I incorporate cinnamon sprinkles into my churro dough?

You can incorporate cinnamon sprinkles into your churro dough by adding a teaspoon or two of ground cinnamon directly into the dough mixture. This will infuse the churros with cinnamon flavor from the inside out, enhancing the overall taste.

Are there any tips for achieving the perfect cinnamon sprinkle coating on churros?

To achieve the perfect cinnamon sprinkle coating, make sure to coat the churros while they are still warm and slightly oily after frying. This helps the sprinkles adhere better. Toss them in a bowl with the cinnamon sugar mixture for an even coating, ensuring every bite is flavorful.
