Anyone know?? I'm puting together a basket for a charity raffle, and it's going to be a lemonade kit. It'll be the quick-stir pitcher, citrus press, 1 prep bowl filled with sugar, a dots microfiber towel and lemons. I have a recipe for homemade lemonade (from the lemon juice bottle) that calls for 1 c. of lemon juice. Just wondering how many lemons that would be.
TIA!

If you use the citrus press, you can get almost 1/4 cup of juice from a lemon. So, I'd say 5-6 just to be safe. Don't wanna give the people less juice than needed! That's a very cute idea, btw.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many lemons are needed to produce one cup of lemon juice?

On average, it takes about 4 to 6 medium-sized lemons to produce one cup of lemon juice. The exact number can vary based on the size and juiciness of the lemons.

What factors affect the amount of juice in a lemon?

The amount of juice in a lemon can be affected by its size, ripeness, and variety. Ripe lemons tend to have more juice, while smaller lemons may yield less.

How can I maximize juice extraction from lemons?

To maximize juice extraction, roll the lemon on a countertop before cutting it, or microwave it for about 10-15 seconds to soften the fruit, making it easier to extract juice.

Are there different types of lemons that yield different amounts of juice?

Yes, there are several varieties of lemons, such as Eureka and Lisbon, which are commonly used for juicing. Meyer lemons are sweeter and may yield slightly less juice but have a unique flavor.

Can I use bottled lemon juice instead of fresh lemons?

Yes, bottled lemon juice can be used as a substitute for fresh lemon juice, but it may not have the same fresh flavor and acidity. Fresh lemons are generally preferred for recipes requiring lemon juice.
