I actually just got my new carafe because the original one tarnished. Has anyone else had this problem?

I guess this was just a fluke...

Ann - never got one. Too expensive for my guests. But if it is tarnished, why not try the stainless cleaner on it? Or a tarnish remover?

Tarnished? Isn't it plastic? I didn't answer sooner because I was stumped (and still am).

Our catalog says that it is Chrome plated. I didn't think that Chrome tarnished, either.
Did it go dark like silver does with time?

Chrome does tarnish, although not as badly as silver does. It's more of a general darkening/haziness than the blackening that silver does. (Just ask anyone with a pre-1980s car.)
