Anyone tried chopping pineapple with the salad choppers? How did it work? My thoughts are that the pineapple is too fibrous for the choppers and that it will be a mess. Anyone know for sure?

I did it at my MIL's show. It worked just fine!

did you do fresh or canned pineapple?

Fresh, I used the Pineapple Wedger first, then cut it into a couple of smaller pieces, and then chopped everything in the Classic Batter Bowl.

I demoed the Pineapple Salsa at my last show, using fresh Pineapple & it was fine. I also did not use the Jalopeno & everyone was happy!

I am demo'ing the salad choppers al a Michael Reeves, the consultant who sold a bzillion bakers. This month it's the BBQ chicken sandwiches. Actually loving them.

MMM MMM good! I just made this and I like it!

However, I will probably leave the cucumber out in the future - I really don't see the need for it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are Salad Choppers and how do they work?

Salad Choppers are kitchen tools designed to make chopping and mixing salads quick and easy. They typically consist of two curved blades that allow you to chop ingredients directly in a bowl or on a cutting board. By using a rocking motion, you can efficiently cut vegetables, fruits, and other salad components into smaller pieces.

Can Salad Choppers be used to chop pineapple?

Yes, Salad Choppers can be used to chop pineapple, but it is recommended to first remove the skin and core of the pineapple. Once prepared, you can use the choppers to cut the pineapple into smaller pieces, making it easier to incorporate into salads or other dishes.

Do Salad Choppers work well for other fruits and vegetables?

Absolutely! Salad Choppers are versatile and can be used for a variety of fruits and vegetables, including cucumbers, bell peppers, tomatoes, and more. They are particularly effective for soft or medium-firm produce, allowing for quick and uniform chopping.

Are there any tips for using Salad Choppers effectively?

To use Salad Choppers effectively, ensure that the ingredients are cut into manageable sizes before chopping. Use a stable cutting surface, and apply even pressure while rocking the choppers back and forth. Cleaning the choppers immediately after use will also help maintain their sharpness and hygiene.

Can Salad Choppers replace a traditional knife for chopping?

While Salad Choppers can be a great alternative for chopping salads and soft fruits, they may not fully replace a traditional knife for all kitchen tasks. For precise cuts, tougher vegetables, or intricate chopping, a knife may still be necessary. However, for quick and easy salad preparation, Salad Choppers are a fantastic tool.
