I have a show in a few weeks, and we are featuring with the Mex Lasagna or Penne Al Fresco...this host is a repeat and always has many guests, and they like to eat. I don't normally do more than 1 recipe at a show, but for her I'm making an exception...I really don't want to demo a 2nd recipe, but willing to put a few finishing touches on the recipe or help her prep before hand. I am looking for something VERY SIMPLE and delicious. I've thought about that chocolate dip from a few years back thinking fruit, pretzels etc would be great dipped...anyone have a "wow" recipe to share?
Thanks!

Oh yeah, I don't want to do a micro-cake b/c I'll be using the DCB in the microwave anyway.

Triffles are easy to have ready to assemble. Do it first and then put it in the fridge to set (they all say to refrigerate for at least 30 minutes). Then you can do the DCB recipe.

Turtle Skillet cake? That's pretty easy and shows off the cookware. I don't know if there are any other skillet cake recipes, but maybe look into that. I know I want to try some other ones, because I loved the ease of the Turtle one, but wasn't in LOVE with the way it tasted. It was okay, but not super super great, like I want my desserts to be. :)You could do a trifle. Have her make all the separate components before hand, or you can make the brownies/cake right when you arrive. Then assemble while people are eating the main dish?

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a quick dessert recipe that can be made in under 30 minutes?

A great quick dessert recipe is a No-Bake Chocolate Mousse. Simply whip together heavy cream, cocoa powder, sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form. Spoon the mousse into individual cups and refrigerate for about 15 minutes before serving. You can top it with whipped cream or chocolate shavings for an extra touch!

Can I prepare a dessert in advance for my guests?

Absolutely! A make-ahead dessert like a trifle is perfect for busy hosts. Layer store-bought pound cake, fresh berries, and whipped cream in a large bowl or individual cups. You can prepare it a few hours or even a day in advance, allowing the flavors to meld together beautifully.

What dessert can I make that requires minimal ingredients?

Chocolate-covered strawberries are a fantastic option that requires only two ingredients: fresh strawberries and chocolate. Melt the chocolate in the microwave or on a stovetop, dip the strawberries, and let them cool on parchment paper. They are simple, elegant, and always a crowd-pleaser!

How can I involve my guests in the dessert preparation?

Consider setting up a DIY dessert bar! Provide a variety of toppings like sprinkles, nuts, and chocolate chips alongside a base like ice cream or yogurt. Guests can customize their own desserts, making it interactive and fun while keeping the preparation simple for you.

What dessert can I make that is suitable for various dietary restrictions?

A fruit salad is a versatile dessert that can cater to various dietary needs. Use a mix of seasonal fruits and add a drizzle of honey or a sprinkle of mint for extra flavor. It’s naturally gluten-free, dairy-free, and can be made vegan, making it a great option for diverse guests.
