I'm one for constant training, the more I can get the better. I've been to three different step up trainings, two conference, every monthly cluster meeting, etc. But National Conference is a must do for my business. I wasn't for sure when I first started but I know that it's something I have to do. I took the BEST class last year and then went from having zero recruits to five in less than 4 months.

Sooo this means I will have no one to hang out with. :eek: Most of the consultants I was friends with from my "home" Cluster are no longer in Pampered Chef. Sad, huh? :(

I am lucky in that my Hospitality Cluster and my "home" Cluster are both going to Wave 2. I am excited about seeing people from my "home" Cluster there as well. I will get to meet my Home Director at the March 10th Sales Training near Atlanta since she is going that day as well. It will be fun to meet face-to-face with the lady I talk to weekly! :) My Recruiter left the biz last year due to some family issues!

With the big upheaval (sp?) in my life these last months, I'm not sure I can afford to go to NC this summer. It's hard to get excited. HOWEVER,, I have 2 FD's who are hoping to walk. If that happens, I'll simply HAVE to go. Of course, THEN I'd be excited, wouldn't I?

This is one of the best pieces of advice I could offer to attendees as well...

AND - for those of you who have been a few times... don't just hang out with oyur own crowd ~ join in on a conversation in the lobby, make it a goal to sit with total strangers at lunch, go to the evening events with CS consultants, introduce yourself to someone in a class.....

If you are the one on the receiving end .... take notice ... this might just be a HUGE step for the person introducing themselves to you!! Make them feel welcome...

If I had not been in the bar (a place I normally do not go to) I would have not big my Big Texas Haired friend ChefAnn!!! NOW that would have been my loss for sure!!!

Take the time to relax and have fun!!!

Information about registration opening has been in a recent PCNewsWire, although I can't recall which one specifically. There's also a countdown above. It will open mid-April, and registration is usually $200, although it can go higher if you add a guest, home office tour, etc.

This will come up a lot - people have wildly varying opinions on it, and they're mostly based on what different terms mean in different parts of the country. Officially, conference is business casual. To me, that means slacks or skirts with a decent blouse/polo/sweater, but no sleeveless, no cropped pants, no flip-flops. The info from HO does specifically state no denim, but you'll see people wearing jeans or jean skirts anyway.

Okay thanks! I was buying an outfit for Easter since I need a little dressier clothes and wanted to be sure what to wear. With my back and leg problems (I walk on a cane), I have to wear my Etonic tennis shoes wherever I go, so footwear won't be a problem. I may even buy another pair of tennis shoes to take with me!

OK...This is my first time going to conference (16 months into my business)... what should I bring/pack? I'm hoping to bring my luggage as carry-on... will it be impossible to bring it all back? I've heard something about ?surprise boxes??? Please fill me in on everything! No one else from my immediate cluster is going besides my director who'll be there a day earlier and in different workshops...

There are a couple of threads in the general conference area about this already. But in a nutshell, we get small gifts, so leave some room for those. If you buy a surprise box, there will be a place to ship it home. And if you shop at Merrill in the cash and carry area, you can either pack those items in your suitcase or stuff them into a surprise box to ship home.

I did Leadership in January with just a carry on. It was really nice because on the way back I packed a lot of my extra goodies in the new reusable bag as my 2nd item. I did underpack my carry on so that I could have more room to pack stuff on the way back.

I'm excited to meet some of the people in my "new" cluster. My former upline hadn't done an event at conference for her team in several years (although we rented one of those trolley buses one year, which was a blast). Now that I'm in my NED's personal cluster, I get to participate in her event on Sunday night.

I am so excited! I am trying to find out about a handicap scooter to use while I am there. I have called HO but the lady I talked with said I needed to use a wheelchair. I told her I was not in a wheelchair and that would also entail someone pushing me everywhere. Anyone know if there is a place to rent one up there cheaply?

Good news! There will be scooters available at Conference! YEAH! The lady from HO said I could use a wheelchair if I preferred. I told her luckily I am not that bad yet and do use scooters all the time in Walmart, etc. Now I just have to figure out where the "Information Desk" will be and how far I have to walk to get there!

I've seen several posts of people talking about shipping things home or taking an extra bag to bring things home. What kind of things are you talking about. This is my first conference so I just was wondering if someone could shed some light for me. Thanks! Judy

Merrill will be there, and they usually have some items stocked there, that if you purchase, you'll need to take home. HO will also make some of the new fall supplies available - usually mini catalogs, postcard invitations and recipe cards. The outside speaker usually has a booth with recordings and other materials for sale. And then there's the surprise box area. We will also receive small gifts from HO as part of the benefit of going: tote bag, table gift at Day2 lunch, table gift at the banquet, and sometimes something else. The conference promos have already stated that we'll receive a new fall product. In the past, we got jars of seasonings to take home.

What I recommend is to get a small (price-wise) surprise box and just ship home all your goodies inside it. FedEx will be there to assist with that, and they just take it out of your commission check (to cover the shipping cost).

I have one catalog show to submit on Saturday then a fundraiser, 2 catalog shows, and a cooking show when I get back! I'll be nuts! LOL!

On the other side, I am so excited, it's not even funny! I am working on getting everything packed but don't want my clothes all wrinkled so just have them all hanging up on my door. Course with my limited wardrobe, I have to take something down and wear it daily! LOL! Will go to the bank on Saturday and get all my money... Don't have a credit card, so it's all cash for me (thanks to Dave Ramsey/FPU)!

Then I have to plant pumpkins on my Farm on Farm Town on Saturday evening so I won't have to harvest them when I get back on Thursday in the wee hours! LOL! Several of my regular "harvesters" will be at Wave 2 as well! LOL!

Can't wait to meet all of you!!!

Hey - thanks for asking! I have a stack of about 60 leads to call from the festival. I purposely told them, "I'll be out of town for the first part of the week, but will be calling people on Thursday." so that I HAVE to make the calls. :) It just happened to fit with the info from Tammy Stanley's workshop at conference, too. (She was probably the best outside speaker I've heard at Conference.)
