When you send an email to your contacts from the PW does it go into Spam for people? Are their certain emails that typically have it go to spam? Just curious as I just sent my monthly newsletter via the website!

It depends on their service provider. I haven't had great results from my PWS, but I haven't sent one from there in over a year.

It also depends somewhat on the receiver's settings. I know people who have everything that isn't from someone listed as "known" go straight to their spam folder.

I just did a test the last 2 days. I sent an email from the website to a great portion of my contact list. Then, I waited a day, and sent the same info from a personal email.

I had ZERO response from the website email, but have had several emails and phone calls from the personal email. That told me what I wanted to know.

It gets sent to spam with my server. I don't use it anymore for that purpose. I just use my personal email and send it in small groupings.

Is there a way to copy all my contacts from the PWS to my peraonl email?

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are my emails from my personal website going to spam for some contacts?

There are several reasons why your emails might be landing in the spam folder. Common issues include the use of certain keywords that trigger spam filters, a lack of authentication protocols like SPF or DKIM, or the recipient's email settings that may classify your emails as spam based on their past interactions.

How can I improve email deliverability from my personal website?

To improve deliverability, ensure that your email list is clean and that you have permission from recipients to send them emails. Additionally, use a reputable email service provider, authenticate your emails, and avoid using spammy language in your subject lines and content.

What role does the email subject line play in spam filtering?

The subject line is crucial as it is one of the first things spam filters analyze. Avoid using all caps, excessive punctuation, or phrases commonly associated with spam, such as "free," "urgent," or "act now." A clear and concise subject line can help improve your chances of landing in the inbox.

Can the recipient's email settings affect my email delivery?

Yes, the recipient's email settings can significantly impact your email delivery. If they have marked your previous emails as spam or have strict filtering rules, your emails may automatically be directed to their spam folder. Encourage your contacts to whitelist your email address to prevent this.

What can I do if my emails continue to go to spam?

If your emails continue to go to spam, consider reaching out to your email service provider for assistance. They can help you analyze your sending practices and provide insights on improving your email reputation. Additionally, regularly engage with your email list to maintain high open and click rates, which can positively influence deliverability.
