CampingI have never been but plan to go with all five of my kiddos sometimes.

Camping is usually thought of when mentioning the GREAT OUTDOORS. Tents, sleeping bags, a bear, picnic basket, fishing pole, fake fish, etc...

Will your kids have to dress the part? Are they on a float? We usually have the battle of the flowers parade and a night parade during fiesta here. I am not a parade person, so we usually don't go. I would be bored out of my mind, but if my kiddos were in something, I would have fun with it.

you could dress them as a flower with the bloom made out of a paper plate, a tree and some grass. Use brown butcher paper you can get it at sam's, bjs types of stores?

Frequently Asked Questions

What are some fun float ideas for a "The Great Outdoors" themed Kiddie Parade?

For a "The Great Outdoors" theme, consider creating floats that represent camping, hiking, or wildlife. You can make a camping float with a small tent, a faux campfire made from cardboard, and stuffed animals. A hiking float could feature a trail with rocks and trees, while a wildlife float could showcase animals like bears, deer, and birds using plush toys or cardboard cutouts.

How can I incorporate nature into the parade costumes?

Encourage kids to dress up as their favorite outdoor elements. They can wear costumes representing animals, trees, or even weather elements like the sun or clouds. Using natural colors like greens, browns, and blues can help tie the costumes into the theme. Adding accessories like flower crowns or animal masks can enhance their outfits.

What activities can we include in the parade to engage the kids?

To keep the kids engaged, consider adding activities like a nature scavenger hunt, where they can look for items like leaves, rocks, or flowers along the parade route. You can also set up stations for crafts, such as making nature-themed bracelets or decorating mini birdhouses. Interactive games like sack races or a tug-of-war can also be a hit!

How can I ensure safety during the Kiddie Parade?

Safety is paramount during any parade. Make sure to have adult supervision at all times and establish clear boundaries for the parade route. Use bright, visible decorations on floats and costumes to ensure everyone is seen. Additionally, remind parents to apply sunscreen and bring water bottles to keep the kids hydrated.

What snacks would be suitable for a "The Great Outdoors" themed Kiddie Parade?

For snacks, consider outdoor-themed treats like trail mix, fruit skewers, or s'mores made with graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows. You can also serve popcorn in paper cones to resemble campfire popcorn. Don’t forget to provide plenty of water and juice boxes to keep the kids refreshed!
