Someone referred to a show at which one serves beverages and appetizers. The first four letters of this type of party were starred out by our filter.

I've seen this happen before.

Is there any way the filter can be tweaked so that real words that are not vulgar don't fall through this trap?

Kind of reminds me of another forum where people had to refer to the cellar so as to not have basement caught by the filter!

Nope. It's a "feature" of the forum software and has no intelligence built in. The only way to stop it is to turn off the censoring completely.

Well, I guess that's OK ... I would hate to see a lack of filtering, I guess ... but what is an alternative word we can use for those, ahem, beverage parties?

I'd say you are safe giving it a shot and if a problem arises where someone registers and things get out of hand, we can always report it right away and if it got too bad, Greg can always consider turning it back on.

Meredith, maybe I should have you talk to my husband. He insists a Catholic education is the best thing for our 13 year old daughter, and won't allow her to go to the public high school.

By the way, it took me awhile to figure out what was wrong with basement, even after reading the hint (I forgot to take off the 'a', and couldn't figure out what asemen were!! :p )
