That's a long time to wait, surely everyone will find out the information before then! We have a meeting the weekend after conference so I don't have to wait too long. I was supposed to give my number to a director in my cluster to call me when she found out but I kept forgetting to call her. So I'll just check on here!

I know and I earned the new stuff too! That will be the REALLY exciting part! I am just really hoping they will announce a new consultant incentive. I have a few fence sitters I would really like to sign for the new year! Plus of course knowing what the trip is going to be might boost my motivation as well!

Most of the time the special edition Newsletters are in the change over kit. I think you get 2 if you attend leadership/national conference, 1 there at the conference and 1 in your change over kit! So you won't have to wait near as long for this newsletter!

How exciting Becky! Thanks for starting this thread! My hear skipped a beat when I first saw it, I was thinking "no way, already? ! this thread is going to be HUGE by Saturday!!!:D
You or someone else will have to start a new thread to just chat about everything, and leave this open for just the announcements or vice versa! Considering this one has been highjacked already and will be like 10 pages long before the first announcement:rolleyes: ;) , you might want to start and info only thread and leave this one for discussing everything! LOL!:p :)

I LOVE Cincinnati Chili and make it all the time - the secret in mine - Allspice - I got the recipe when we lived in NoVa from a restaurant owner from Cincinnati. I made it the weekend and have tons leftover in the fridge.
DH has a ballgame tomorrow night (basketball coach) - so I guess I'll have a bowl & logon to here and dream of Cincinnati!

I teach so Leadership was pretty much impossible - I didnt think it would bother me to not go but I am missing it now!!!!

I don't believe that Greg or Deb would do that to us

They would have told us that they would do that -

They take great care of us and they always tell us what we can and cannot talk about

This site will no down - once in a while.

It sort of takes my breath away to look at that list, and to know for the first time I don't have to wonder what I'm going to get! (I earned level 4 this time!) but I wonder about some of the things - like if I will get a 10" skillet - and the cover for the shears....

I am so excited about the regular sized SA mugs!!! I'll be ordering extra of those. And the Dots Salad Plates! And I love the HWC stuff too.

Can't wait for more pics!
Me too, Becky!! I earned level 4 this year, and I am SOOOO excited!!!
Okay girls!! Rub it in!!! I wanted level 4 so bad!!!!!!!!!! But I didn't make it level 3 is still so much appreciated! I am excited that whatever I didn't learn, shouldn't be too much to buy though! And I am going to do my first mystery host/ spring kickoff show in 3-4 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow!! I'm excited!
And Becky! I can almost guarantee you will not get that skillet! They don't do that most of the time. I could be wrong! it's happened once or twice!:p :p :D ;) ! But the only time I ever earned a big peice of cookware was when simple additions first came out and they weren't ready to be released to us yet and our director packages were not very big, so they sent us the double burner griddle too! Now that was fabulous! And yes we still got our SA, but it came about a month later!:)

I would love the new dinnerware, but I think that my hubby would protest to dots, and technically I can do what I want, but I don't need to listen to the grief! I use the medium and small squares as plates now!
I'm curious about the sheet pans, but not excited!!! We sell stoneware! I heard from Kristi that the room was silent when they announced it yesterday and that they are bringing them out because there is a market for them, customers still request them! I won't use it for a lot of things but it will come in handy for some things! I like that it goes under the broiler and they go in the dishwasher!

That was my thought too. I have one aluminum pan that I saved from my pre-PC days.....and I use it as a drip pan. When I need to broil something, I use the broiler pan that came with my oven. So, not thrilled with metal cookie sheets.

I can see people getting the new dinnerware set as a 1/2 price item!

I want to earn the trip so bad no matter what it is. I have never earned a level yet, but I only do this part time and every year they keep upping the points. I remember when I first started, level 1 was 17,500 points and I have gotten that many every except the first year and now that isn't enough.

When do they post the new products on CC? Is it tomorrow that the special edition is on the website?

Just got off the phone with Katie...

Level One is $300 in conf cash, OR a GIFT CERTIFICATE...or MERCHANDISE (one example was a Kitchen Aid Mixer) She was walking to her class so she didn't have time to give more details.

Level Two Miami Beach

Level Three Riveria Mexico or Paris

Level Four extra night at above

TPC earned extra night too.

Like I said, she was rushed so she didn't even have her notes out and was going off the top of her head...sorry if anything is missing!

ChefJoyJ
01-11-2008, 11:07 AM
Okay - not the incentives I was hoping for! :(

Miami will not be a huge incentive for DH, and out of country might end up being a hassle we won't be able to finalize in time. Oh well!

Still going to bust my tail for level 3 - b/c if I can get it, I can motivate DH to take care of some paperwork he's been needing to since he turned 18. He was adopted when he was 8 from Korea, his parents never took care of his citizenship (don't ask me why, so much easier with kids), and he hasn't taken care of it since he's been 18 (he's 31 now). You wouldn't know he wasn't a citizen, except he doesn't vote...but that's a lot of citizens. So...perhaps this will light a fire under him to get his paperwork in and taken care of...

Miami, FL??? I can't imagine that being a huge incentive for anyone, truthfully! I'm disappointed...I was hoping level 2 would be something cool like the Bahamas cruise again.

Can you imagine me getting it in my first year??? If I get the sales I need to bring home the money my DH said I need to make in order for me not to get a PT job too, I should do pretty well. I need app. $800/month, which is about $3500/month in sales. If I do that, I could get close, right?

I like the mercandise in level 1 though. Still not crazy about level 2, but that could be b/c this body doesnt' need to be anywhere near Miami Beach. :D

I miss it too - I have been pretty much the same size (an 8) my whole life, until I got pregnant at the age of 39.....and I've never recovered from it.

It would probably help if I liked to exercise....

Tee hee! I am right there with you girls! Evan will be three in April and I am STILL bigger than before my pregnancy! The scale says I am back to the same weight, but I can attest that FAT weighs more than MUSCLE...I am TWO SIZES bigger than before!

I've had the same problem. I got back to my pre-preg weight, but my pants are 2 sizes bigger that before. I still can't part with the old jeans - they might fit someday! My DS will be 4 in April.

Yes the body does go back to weight just takes a bit more.....

My first two I walked out of the hospital in the prepregnancy jeans. And I think all of woman kind cursed me becasue after my third I am 100 lbs over weight 8 years later. AAAHHH but I have lost 40 lbs. And am working towards my goals of having my size 16 pants again then I will work towards the next goal of size 12....I am on my way from a size 26 in September to a size 22 now......

You might be one of the lucky ones. I work with a girl that is the same age as me. She had her first at 31ish and was back in her regular size 7 jeans in 7 days. I wanted to hate her, but she is nice. She just had her second 2 months ago and was in her regular jeans within 2 weeks. How unfair!

Maybe next year they could add liposuction as on of the incentives. I would really work for that.

You will probably be one of the ones that bounces back with no problem! You know...the ones that we see pushing a stroller or holding a 6 week old baby and they don't even look like they were EVER preggo!!

Two hints:
1. Breastfeeding helped take the weight off pretty quickly the first few months

2. EXERCISE...I didn't.

Oh, I agree...I love my little bundle of sunshine. I call her little, b/c she's almost 11 months old and still in 3-6 month clothing with soooo much room to spare. She's my little petite baby, with cheeks of chunk! I'll have to post pics, it's funny! Her body is so tiny under the clothes, and she has chipmunk cheeks.

Hmmm...not the trips I was hoping for. 2009 will be our 10 year anniversary & I was hoping to earn a really cool trip. We lived about 20 minutes away from Miami for 4 years while my DH was in dental school, so that's not so fabulous. Of course, we would get to see a lot of friends again--for free. I had to stand up in a wedding 9 months after my DD was born - I found out the morning of the wedding that I was pregnant with my DS. And 3 months after my son was born I had to stand up in my brother's wedding. At least it was a pretty good weight loss incentive. I lost 30 lbs for the first one - had 10 lbs left, and lost 25 for ths second one - had about 15 lbs left. I have since lost the 15 +5 and then gained 10 back. So frustrating.

Breastfeeding worked for me:) I was back in my fitted jeans within days of having twins. The down side -- as a size 0-2 -- twins left my belly looking like a wrinkle dog. We're talking a couple of inches of extra skin.
So... while people might get have unkind thoughts about my quick weight drop after both pregnancies -- they wouldn't feel that way if they got a look at my tummy.
For some people, I am told that breastfeeding makes it difficult to lose the last 5-10 pounds. I know it was that way for my sister. But breastfeeding does burn 500 calories a day. No wonder I got thin so quick -- nursing twins I barely had time to eat, plus burning 1000 calories a day. It almost makes me want to get preggers again. If only my sanity could take it:)

I think the sheet pans are a great idea. We all know that PC is known for stoneware, just like we are known for great no stick cookware. Well that didn't stop us from catering to a larger market with SS cookware.

I look at it like this... There are some great seafood resteraunts out there ... but the good ones will always have a few things Non seafood just in case there is someone in a group of customers who does not care for seafood (like my hubby... much to my families chagrin...)

Now we can have something to offer those people who say "I hate stoneware!"

I am excited to learn more about all the new products!!!

I started a running plan and took on some healthier eating habits, and I was about to chicken out for the day( I have been doing so good!) but you all motivated me to keep on keeping on! I still hate running:yuck: , but am hoping the more I make myself do it, the more I may begin to like it!

That's so funny cause my first year at NC i roomed with out-of-state cluster mates that i didn't know. The first night, as we were going to sleep i asked them "if i got the pc logo tattood on my bum, would i have to get permission since it's copyrited?" Now it's become a running joke with my director that when i either earn a trip or walk across stage at NC, i'm gonna get the logo tatted on my bum and try to get Doris to get one with me.

Level 2 - 4 days 3 nights in Miami Beach

Level 3 - 5 days 4 nights in Mexican Riviera, or Paris

Level 4 - Extra day/night

TPC - Extra day/night

She just got out of the Phone Courage workshop, and said that it was INCREDIBLE!

Well, I've forgotten all the replies I wanted to take care of because this thread has changed subjects so often. BUT...
Love the pictures, thank you for those. Don't care for pink, but glad to see the pictures. I think I know what I'll give one of my sisters for her birthday after HWC month.
Some of us were too heavy before we got pregnant so being back to prepregnancy weight wasn't that hard. I'm actually less than I was when I was in high school. I was a size 12-14 in h.s and lost my freshman 15. Then up and down until pregnant and just went up and up. After two babies and a few years I am back down to a 10 and sometimes an 8, but unfortunately sometimes a little too close to 12.
I forget what free product level I made in November. $3000 in sales.
I'd go on any trip if TPC is sending me for free, even Miami. I'm sure it will be great.
I think that's all.

Are you talking the little pink measuring cups or the three bowls with the handle in the middle. The measuring cups are great for a hundred things (anything you would sell the easy read mini measuring cup). The bowls with the handle are what I would guess is a condiment set- great for sauces or nuts and candy.

I don't get the SA HWC cups?
Do they come apart?
What are they to be used for if they don't?

I have a 3 little cup caddy just like the one shown (but in all white-bought years ago from Crate&Barrel maybe?).

I use mine for a few things.
Condiments!
Dippers for fondue (this is what I orignally bought mine for)
Candy

When entertaining, I use it to put a different dip in each bowl. (PC Dill Dip in one, PC Southwest in one and Helluva Good French Onion in another). And since we can write on the SA with a dry-erase marker (I think this is correct), you could write the name of each dip on each of the bowls??

And with the new spices coming out, maybe one of those will make a good dip.

Okay - just got off the phone with chefAnn:

The level one incentive is $300 PC Dollars (not cash), or GC to different Places, or Merchandise Choices.

Will know Sellathon Levels later today

The new Dots Dinnerware Set is on the Cover of the Spring/Summer catalog.

And she says the new rubs (which they all got full size samples of) are incredible smelling!

Hopefully, everyone will share their workshop notes with us too!!! I would love to see notes on the Phone Courage Workshop. (Although, I am getting pretty good at picking up the phone to get a few contacts in each day.)

I have friends and hosts who love pink and prefer the softer lines so I think the bowls will go great. Like you, I prefer the SA.

I think people who have a connection with cancer will appreciate these pink products, too. Some people aren't as uptight as me about colors. As soon as we have a flyer available, I have a friend who I will give the pictures. She had breast cancer a few years ago, and she is interested in having a show. She didn't give to RUFTH because she really wanted any donation she made to go to breast cancer research. (It was August.)

As far as the sheet pans go, if they are heavy I am all them. Sometimes you need a good sheet pan and the bar pan just don't do. Last night, I was making cupcakes for my birthday ( I know, pretty pitiful when you have to make your own birthday cake... that being said from a woman who is munching on one as I type!) and wanted to pour ganache over top of them but needed a pan big enough to go under the stackable cooling rack. A good sheet pan would have come in handy.

I do NOT bake my cookies on our stones. There. I said it! I have the larger industrial size THICK stainless pans with a lip around the edge. I never tell people about the metal pans because at Christmas time about 8 to 10 of us will get together and bake cookies from about 4am until we get done about 7-8pm - with stone only it would probably take three days - we will stack the metal sheets on three racks in my oven and with stones you can't do that

Don't feel bad - I use metal too.

My mom's got kicka$$ metal pan that we use all the time for cookies. It's about 50% larger than the bar pan so it holds a lot more.
She's also got 2 metal cookie sheets (the same as the bar pan, jut metal) that we use a lot.

(I say we use my mom's pans because we live with her while we save for a house)

First, I love my stones - for almost everything.

And, yes, I too was shocked about the metal sheet pans...but I also bake COOKIES on metal cookie sheets. I think they are Wilton brand. They are pretty thick and they are not non-stick. So they have held up through the years and I feel good quality- though I think the ones they sell now are thinner...

I have alwyas been afraid to bake cookies on the stones. I have tried once years ago and they did not turn out that well. I am not that good with cookies anyway so the less I deviate from a recipe the better.

So if the new pans are going to be good quality I will have no problem with them! I also think they may be stainless and not non-stick(?-I am assuming since somewhere it said they can go in the dishwasher. And I don't think non-stick can go in the dishwasher.). This would be a good thing, imo.

Pictures of these woudl be great!

Don't feel bad Kelly. I use my metal airbake pans sometimes too (like during Christmas when I do alot of baking). But, I only use them with Parchment Paper. Are the new metal baking sheets non-stick?? I've always sold stones by informing people of the dangers of many non-stick (ie:old, teflon) pans. If these aren't non-stick, I'll LOVE them. If they are, I'll add the to my list of products I "forget" to mention.

oroccan Rub

Moroccan Rub

2 TBSP paprika
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp coarsely ground black pepper
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground cardamom
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp ground fenugreek

I just re-started the south-beach diet and I can already feel a little bit in 3 days! My pants aren't so tight! I did really good with this 3 years ago and I've decided this is the way for me, plus there is heart disease in my family and I figured this diet will help me not be a risk considering the doc that started it, started it as a heart smart diet!
The trips are not thrilling to me but hey that's okay! It still worth trying to earn because if you earn it you've earned a bunch of other stuff and probably really close to or already have earned TPC!

Okay, when I first read where the trips were going to be I was really disappointed. I really talked to my boys about helping me out this year and we might be able to go somewhere. When they came home from school, they said "woo-hoo Miami, we get to finally see the ocean. I meantioned Paris and my 12 year old said, "I want to go there, they have really great food!" to which my 13 year old said, "French chicks don't shave their pits" I thought I was going to die laughing.
So I guess I will be working my but off to get to Miami. I have never earned a level before, so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Ok - just a quick question. Let's say I earn a trip this year. Does that mean I get free registration on top of that since that is Level 1? I'm not quite sure how this works b/c I've only been doing this a year and haven't sold enough to get to the point of earning Level 1 ($17,890 for my first year! Not bad in my opnion). I would love to at least earn level 1 this year, but a trip would be great. I have about 6 gals that are getting married this year so I'm hoping that will help with a chunk of it. I just need to get on the phone to make some calls and get my calendar full!

From what my Director told me, the free product is usually around the $40 range. Like the SS 8" pan and the triffle bowl. Just a thought.

Jules711
01-11-2008, 03:34 PM
Levels are separate from each other so it's just one level that you earn. Level one isn't free registration. It's conference cash to spend wherever you want (a debit card that you get when you get there...I think). Hope that helps.

Leigh0725
01-11-2008, 03:37 PM
For some reason I thought level one this year was free conference registration and that this was how it was. Oh well. Guess we that is why we have Conference club! ;)

Cindycooks
01-11-2008, 03:37 PM
Yes - its a $300 debit card and the good thing is, you can use it anywhere (not just at the conference booths and hotels which is what some people mistakenly think). You can shop, eat out, pay for your hotel room - whatever you want with it!

How funny. that's almost exactly what I sold my first year -- $17892 (i was actually upset bc my first year, level one was $20K)
not bad in my opinion either. keep up the momentum and you'll earn a level this year! I got level one 2007 and am shooting for 2 or 3 this year. hoping my recruit leads will turn into team members and that my busiest month is the double points time span. recruiting is where its at though!

The first year I was a consultant, $15,000 was the amount you needed for Level One....and I earned it....but the next year, they raised the amount....and I think it has been higher every year since.

ragschef
01-11-2008, 03:58 PM
oh yeah. my first year i had absolutely no recruits and was 21oo points away from earning level one. however, due to personal goings on in the summer, i had to take a month and a half off my first year and probably could have gotten it, had I worked that summer

best of luck to you!! and to everyone else!

KimberleePowell
01-11-2008, 03:58 PM
Yes, you can earn levels if you do not recruit. However, it is so much easier to attain points if you do recruit. For instance, in 2007 you would receive 1 point for every dollar in comissionable sales and 2000 points for every qualified recruit. I hope that makes sense.

Jules711
01-11-2008, 03:59 PM
Level one is definitely achievable without recruiting. You just have to have a steady show schedule and sell a lot and be sure to do a lot in Jan/Feb when you get dbl points!! That makes a huge difference!

Exactly! I made level 1 this year for the first time without having recruiting points! I double booked for Feb (which was dbl pts month) and ended up with $25kish points. So it is doable!

This is information that I just received from my Director.

This is just the $3000 level (many are saying just imagine 1/2 of the stuff for the $1500 level- what half I don't know)

ok, here is the list of what's in the $3000 level:

Green bar board with paring knife
color coated paring knife
greek rub
chipolte rub
micro scraper (fits in the BBQ basting bottle??)
mega scraper (for cookware, etc)
master scraper (for batters, etc)
set of cookware protectors
medium alum. sheet pan
oven pad(s) - not sure if it's one or two.
chef's tools - small spoon
chef's tool - square slotted
pinch bowls
microfiber/dishcloth set
tumbler set
outdoor serving utensil set
grilling cookbook
party stakes
dots mugs
wine bottle opener
kitchen shear cover
colander set

I agree. I didn't recruit this year & ended with just over 23000 points. I also didn't have a great double points month & took October off to have a baby. So it's doable. I'm trying for level 2 or 3 this year--by recruiting!

I wasn't too excited when I heard about the trips, but after talking to DH at lunch, he said, Paris would be cool. I thought he never really cared about Paris! So I guess I'll shoot for level 3 & be happy where I land!

Please tell me that the green bar board and knife are not my sell-a-thon reward for submitting 2 (actually more) shows in Nov.!

I would think they would have been my reward for signing up AND qualifying in November, which would have made others "green with envy." Since I signed up Oct. 27, it was impossible for me to meet that deadline. I was told not to worry about it since those products weren't that big of a deal anyway.

ON A MORE POSITIVE NOTE ...

I am excited about the metal pans, believe it or not!

I still bake cookies on my airbakes because I cannot clean nut oils from stoneware, and I have a nephew with a life-threatening allergy. Also, I found that my cookies spread out no matter what pan I use, and using a hot stone makes the problem worse. At least I can wash a warm metal pan without fear of stress fractures.

Still LOVE the stoneware for other things, and I am convinced it will still be our bread and butter!

You don't have to recruit. But if you don't, there are certain things you won't be able to get. Just like if you don't sell enough, you won't earn new products.

I believe that every policy, promotion, special, etc, is put in place to help US grow our business. Trust our leaders. They know what they are doing.

I'm in a very small area that being inindated with consultants and I'm having a hard time keeping hostesses that don't have cousins or neighbors becoming consultants. I don't recruit, as I haven't had anyone interested and also if I did, it's just taking business away from me.

This is supposed to by My business my way, and I think it's becoming Recruit or go no where way and that's not why I joined this business.

I guess this year will be last conference I attend  , as without that Level 1 - $300.00 conference cash bonus, I won't be able to go.

I believe promotion stuff should be separate - I can do as little or as much sales I want to do - if I want to earn the new products that is one thing but if I want to earn level one, I should be able to earn it on my sales, not recruiting. I know they want their company to grow bigger but if don't want to recruit but have high sales - I shouldn't be penalized (???) for that.

just my weird way of thinking - but it will make it hard to recruit because I will have to tell everyone that to earn trips or gift certificates - they will have to recruit

Same thought here. I know they are trying to make sure there is enough of a consultant base that is selling to allow HO to provide great incentives, products and keep PC moving forward, but I'm not in a position to be able to support consultants and don't recruit because of it.

No, if you continue to NOT recruit, you will continue to work hard for the same results. But when you build a team, you work smarter, increase your rewards and your income and still do those same 2 shows a week.

The key in earning trips is by recruiting anyway so by placing higher recruiting requirements on the yearly incentive is only going to help us GROW OUR BUSINESSES and guarantee that we will earn trips!!!!!!!!

It would be a shame if the company moved in the direction of valuing recruiting over everything else. I think that Level One should be held open for consultants who are happy partying all the time :-)

As of now I am only a future director and don't have to train my recruits. My director does that. At some point I will promote and will be able to train them myself but I will cross that bridge when I get there.

Our company does not value recruiting above all else. As consultants, there are three aspects to our job: sell, book, and recruit. They all go hand in hand. That's what the 3-2-1 Success Plan is all about. Our company makes it SOOOO easy for us to be successful in all three by giving us top notch training, materials, and tools! I love our company!!!!

That's not your responsibility--it's your director's responsibility. All you have to do is ask!! Your director should take it from there, so ask her for help! You can do this!!!!

I know technically that is what I could do, but I feel that if I am going to make a very conscious effort to recruit then I need to share in the responsibility to make sure "my" consultants are trained property and have all the enouragement they need. If every one of my director's consultants recruited and then dumped (yes, I know that is not the best word, but that is what I feel like I'd be doing) the new consultants on my director, she could become overwhelmed. I'm not saying that I don't offer the opportunity to everyone, but I also don't go out of my way to bring anyone "into the fold" either. And I'm not saying that I don't plan to grow my business/team, just not right now. Is this making any sense or am I just rambling???

I have to much going on that I don't have time for recruiting and training

My husband - well in some sense - is okay

My dad is 77yrs old and is needing more help (my mom died 4 1/2 years ago and we moved in his house Nov 06)

My daughter is entering a new stage with her health concern. She was born with a cleft lip/palate (both were repaired when she was 4 and 10 months old) - she just turned 8 years old and her plastic surgeron (which she has been seeing him since she was 16 days old) said that it is time to take it to the next step with bone graphing - that is going to happen within the next 30 days, we backed off of her speech lessons from 4 days to 1 day after school and now after the surgery will go back up - I hope only 3 days. But still, with everything I do for these 3 people, I don't want to take on more responsiblilies

O - I forgot to tell you that I do have 2 recruits, 1 started in April and quialifed in May and has done only less than $3,000 in total and the other one signed in May and has never quailifed - that is another whole different thread. I e-mail them and so does my director

My sales has been just where I want them to be but like someone said - as consultants - we should have a chance to earn a trip even if we don't recruit.

I have already talked with my director about this. And once I feel that I am taking care of my own family the way I should, we will be doing a team approach. But since I honestly don't know if it will be this year, I'm a bit disappointed that it might cause me to miss ALL of the incentives.

I completely agree with the recruiting requirement for the trips (bigger output from HO requires a bigger committment from consultant), but not Level 1... there should be at least one level that those of us that for one reason or another choose not to recruit can earn. From a business persepetive, I can understand what HO chose to go down this road and that is fine. I just with they had kept Level 1 as achievable without recruiting. Oh well... doesn't mean I love PC any less... you are right in everything else you have said about the company. It is a GREAT company to be associated with and I completely enjoy my "job".

I want to recruit, but I'm with many of the others, I don't think it should be linked to the trips. I have been trying to recruit since Conf. last July and have only signed one. That would totally stink to not get a trip due to recruiting.

I have personally gotten the impression they really are in need of recruits the way they are pushing it so much. PC is supposed to be for everyone at any level you want to work the business.

I personally did not want to recruit until the past year myself. I felt like I was still learning the business and wouldn't be a good trainer. I also didn't get training from my director. That is how if found CS. I was looking for help. I didn't hold it against my director (she has since quit). She was very busy w/4 children of her own. I have 3 and I know how busy I get.

I do have one recruit who qualified, but I do feel like I'm not supporting her like I should (which it's really my directors job). I'm so busy. I really wanted to go to Leadership to get some training on being a leader/trainer, but I couldn't go until I have 2 recruits. I personally think they should change that requirement. I think if you have 1 year or less of time with the co. it should be 2 recurits, but if you have more then 1 year and at least 1 recruit you shoudl be able to go. I really want to promote to director this year, but I don't feel like I've had any training to get me ready.

Just my opinion.

I am only a hobby consultant, so I can't really complain much about the incentives because I don't do enough to reach them anyway...as far as trips. But, I have been in this business for almost 7 years and I talk about the opportunity at all my shows and to people I meet daily. In the past 6 years I have recruited 2 people...1 is a hobby consultant and the other qualified and then quit. So, recruiting is not easy for everyone. I live in a very rural area...15 minutes to over an hour to get to the closest towns surrounding my small town.

My biggest concern with requiring recruits to earn incentives is that it gives an...NOW PLEASE DO NOT BASH ME..."Amway" feel to our wonderful company. We work for a great company. But I do not like the recruit, recruit, recruit mentality. We do not want to be considered a pyramid scheme...the ones at the top who have lots of recruits get everything.

I don't see this as a fair incentive. Yes, we could probably all get one recruit, but if I sell 55000.00 in products and you sell 23000.00 but get 1 recruit, it seems they are saying you are more important to this company than I am. I see a lot of cheating coming.

But then again, how can you complain about something you are getting for free. You don't have a trip now, so if you don't earn it you really haven't lost anything. But, if you do everything that is required to get the trip and you make your goal, LOOK WHAT YOU ACCOMPLISHED!! You had a lot of shows, made some CASH, earned some great free products along the way, and earned a FABULOUS all expense paid trip for 2.

So, I guess it is all in the way you look at it. Keep up the good work everyone. I have learned a lot from you all. I appreciate all you share on here. You have helped my business greatly.

I have been in buis for almost 5 years and have not signed 1 person in that whole time. It is not because I have not asked. I have had people interested but it never seems like the right time for them.I can only invite and inform.

I feel to truly live My life my way thru PC I should be able to achieve at least level one without having it be in someone elses hands. Ultimately it is not in my hands. It is up to the other person to decide for themselves.

I also feel for the first time "pressure" to sell, Sell the dream that is. I understand that they are trying to push us to grow. I understand why they are changing it but I do not have to like it.

Hey, everyone! I don't have time to read the 18 additional pages on this thread since I logged in last, but I wanted to address a couple of things that I've seen mentioned by page 6.

The metal pans are to appeal to the 60% of consumers who use metal pans. So it's a huge potential market. The large one is the same size as the large bar pan, but weighs half as much. The medium one is 1 pound. They're nice, heavy pans. Colleen and I did notice some scratches in the bottom of one in the product room, where people had cut things, but that's typical of any metal pan.

There are several items not included in the SAT levels: 10" Exec saute pan, Dots dinnerware set, repackaged bakeware (cake pans, springform pan), and SBRC (but that will be in changeover).

I have to much going on that I don't have time for recruiting and training

That is why HO offers the online courses and teleclasses... they KNOW that consultants are all in different places in their lives and might not be able to train those they recruit or may be in a position where their director may not (or chooses not to) train them. We have wonderful resources right at our fingertips if consultants choose to take advantage of them.

I just got an email from my director that said there is a great promo for promoting to director, but she didn't tell what it is. Does anyone know???

$100 Spa Certificate for Developing 2 Directors who promote between Feb 1 and Sept 1.
Luxury Spa Experience for promoting 3 during that time. I can't remember where the spa trip is.

I'd love to see pictures of the pinch bowl set, new shears, dots glasses, and the dinnerware set.

Thanks

There is nothing new about the shears, just a new cover (sold seperately). There are pictures of everything else in my other recent posts.

Okay...I've lurked enough. The special "new director" promotion is this...when you promote to director between February 1 and September 1, HO will pay for your New Director Academy registration PLUS give you a travel reimbursement amount up to $250. All New Director Academy training will be at Home Office in Addison, IL.

I think that's awesome!!! I set my Director's goal of April 1, 2008 and going to New Director's training on May 16-17, 2008.

Now that I put this information on Chef Success, I need to do it!!!

I talked to the gentleman in the Product Interactive Room about these pans~people were VERY upset and I even heard one woman say that PC had set us up as liars due to our promotion of Stoneware for years and now we have these.....SO, I asked him to help me understand the important differences between the 2 so that I could feel good selling them. Here is what he said:

There has never been comparable metal cookie sheets on the market, UNTIL NOW! The structure and components make our metal pans comparable to our Stoneware but appeal to 60% of the market that does not purchase Stoneware for whatever reason (weight, dislike not being able to use soap...).

I hope this helps with those folks as concerned as I was about this new product! Also, remember that PC NEVER, EVER gives us a product that they have not really put to the test. I think if you look at the fact that not everyone likes Stoneware ( ), we will now be able to give them a choice where we couldn't do that before.

Actually, ALL New Director Academy sessions are FREE this year! The special promo for promoting that period is that they'll reimburse travel to the Chicago area. The crowd went absolutely nuts over free Director Academy. What a great company!

I just know I will be faced with the question "Why should I spend X amount of $'s on this metal one when I can get it for so much cheaper at the store?" How are they different? I think it may be good for those that don't like ( ) stoneware, but I want to be prepared for the inevitable questions I will be faced with.

I think the metal pans will appeal to our customers. You see them used on all the cooking shows. Some people don't like the stones(I don't know why, but they don't) Look at it as another option, not a replacement.

The metal pans are aluminum over steel, so they're layered (kinda like the SS cookware). They also have really nice rolled rims, and wire reinforcements inside the rim, to reduce warping and twisting. They're SOOOOO much nicer than the metal pans that are available at stores, except maybe high-end cooking or restaurant supply stores. And at either of those places, the price would be comparable for comparable quality.

Here is what I was told as part of the description:

aluminum steel so it can be used under the broiler; dishwasher safe; rolled edge with wire rims help prevent warping; 1" deep

They are really good quality and sturdy- for the price they are very reasonable, just think, the $4-6 ones warp after just a few uses (especially if you accidently try to wash them while they are still warm).

I too think they came out w/the metal pans due to the cooking shows. My guess is they will come out with a silicone baking sheet to go w/them this fall to address the sticking. These are so popular on the cooking shows and Martha Stewart. I've always wondered why Martha doesn't use a cooking stone:)!

I have a set of baking sheets of this quality. I got them for a shower present when I got married 20 years ago. I still have them and they are the best. We are fortunate to have a company in Fort Wayne that makes quality kitchen products for restaurants. I hope PC is purchasing them from an American company, but I'm guessing they are probably made in China.

And train your recruits, motivate them, and cheer them on despite your day job?

This is not directed solely at you...but to everyone who is getting upset about the recruiting requirements to earn levels...

If your intent is not to become a Director...you can recruit and YOUR DIRECTOR will train and support them. She gets paid to do that. When I first started 4 years ago, my goal was NOT to be a director. That did not stop me from offering the opportunity...and those who decided to become a consultant were trained and supported by my Director and by me when I had the time.

Now that my goal is to become a Director...I will be telling my recruits exactly that! I want EVERYONE to recruit...but if they can't train their recruits (or don't want to) - I will do it! That will help my team to grow WIDE and DEEP.

I know everyone is freaking out about the incentive levels including recruiting. Really...it is our JOB to offer the opportunity to sell, to have a show, or to purchase products. One recruit every 12 months is not asking a whole lot. Pampered Chef has continued to proove year after year that they are working towards our benefit. Trust them!

OK...off my soap box now! Hee hee:chef:

Kelly, very well put!

It is Pampered Chef's prerogative to create the hoops that must be jumped through to earn anything they offer.

If you are upset with the recruiting requirement being attached to these incentives (especially level one), I suggest that you write a letter (or email) to home office and let them know how you feel. You can be upset all day on here and it's not going to make a difference but if enough people who feel the same way let their thoughts be known, something may change.

Very well said. Many people recruit anyway while trying to earn a level which helps them in getting the points. I know some people can sell thousands without recruiting but that is the exception to the norm.

HO listens - let them know.

I could not have said this better myself, Kelly! Let's look at the positive in this like you have and know that recruiting may not be your "thing" but it is your Directors "thing"!! As a Director, I am happy to do everything it takes to get any new recruit off to the best start-it's why I get the benefits!
