with anything other than the fillings listed on here? I wanted to try something different with chicken. I dont know what though. Maybe like a barbeque chicken/red onion/moz cheese or getting one of those roasted chickens already cooked at the store and maybe some kind of stuffing...I dunno....just in the mood for something DIFFERENT....

Denarella, are you talking about fillings for the wreaths, rings, braids?

This isn't chicken but ham...

My husband won a Honey-Baked Ham from work (it was huge!) and I did several things with it, used it for the Ham & Cheese Brunch Squares, used the Ham alone and served it for dinner with a green bean casserole, and made home-made Split Pea Soup. (which didn't survive being frozen and then reheated too well.)

I chopped up the ham, added some mayo and a little mustard and mixed in some onion and green pepper. I scooped that inside a ring and then placed some slices of swiss cheese on top. Tucked the crescent rolls around the sides and baked.

That turned out pretty yummy!

I have a recipe for Apple Maple Chicken which is soooo good but not sure if it could be converted to a filling. It requires sauteeing the chicken along with some apples and maple syrup. I'm about ready to turn in for the night but let me know if you're interested in that recipe and I'll post it tomorrow. :)

Apple Maple Sounds delicious, Mary Rose. I certainly will try that! I'm just looking for something more "mealish" for lack of a better word. I'm trying to stay more on the chicken/turkey side.

Sleep well!

Frequently Asked Questions

What are some unique chicken fillings I can try?

Some unique chicken fillings you can try include spinach and feta, buffalo chicken with cream cheese, sun-dried tomato and basil, apple and cheddar, or a Mediterranean mix with olives and artichokes. These combinations can add exciting flavors to your dishes!

How can I prepare the chicken for these non-traditional fillings?

To prepare the chicken, you can either butterfly the chicken breasts to create a pocket for the filling or pound them thin for easier rolling. Make sure to season the chicken with salt and pepper before adding your chosen filling to enhance the overall flavor.

Can I use leftover chicken for these fillings?

Absolutely! Leftover cooked chicken is a great option for these fillings. Simply shred or chop the leftover chicken and mix it with your desired ingredients to create a delicious filling that saves time and reduces food waste.

What cooking methods work best for stuffed chicken?

Stuffed chicken can be cooked using various methods, including baking, grilling, or pan-searing. Baking is a popular choice as it allows the chicken to cook evenly while keeping the filling moist. Make sure to cook the chicken to an internal temperature of 165°F for safety.

Are there any tips for keeping the filling from leaking out?

To prevent the filling from leaking out, ensure that you securely seal the chicken by using toothpicks or kitchen twine. Additionally, avoid overstuffing the chicken, as this can cause it to burst during cooking. A light coating of oil or breadcrumbs on the outside can also help keep the filling intact.
