Hi Everyone

I talked to my host this morning her party is October 9th. She told me that she would like to have a fall theme party. Any ideas of receipes or how the theme would work?

Thanks :)

Fall theme Party,I just did a Fall Theme last night. It was easy. We did the Turkey Cranberry Ring (perfect for leftover turkey), and the apple taffy Pizza. Both recipies show alot of tools and it was very interactive. I had the guets help me with all parts of the recipies. Then we served everything on the new stripped simple additons and had the table set with the fall linens. It looked great. There are some great apple documents under pc files and the guests loved the info on different types of apples. Hope this helps!!

A fall theme might be fun! I would make either an apple recipe or pumpkin recipe--there are lots to choose from!

I found this quiz today on MSN.com...this might be fun too! Granted, some of these are HARD questions (IMO), but you could always add/change them to fall food questions, such as how to pick a good squash, pumpkin, apple, etc, or something like that.

1-Leaves change colors in the fall because
a) The summer’s bright sun dries them out
b) They produce less chlorophyll, which keeps them green
c) The plant sucks the green in to use as strength for the winter, much in the same way Popeye eats his spinach

2-Since the Middle Ages, some communities have celebrated the harvest with a symbolic item made of grain. What is it?
a) A scarecrow
b) A wreath
c) A doll

3-The first person to propose the idea of daylight savings time was
a) Benjamin Franklin
b) Sir Isaac Newton
c) Seth Thomas

4-The full moon that follows the harvest moon is called
a) The hunter’s moon
b) The root moon
c) The blue moon

5-The Native American tribe who brought food to the Pilgrims, inspiring the Thanksgiving tradition, were
a) Cree
b) Wampanoag
c) Mohawk

6-The Autumnal Equinox is
a) One of 2 days a year when day and night are of equal length
b) One of the three horse races that comprise the Triple Crown
c) The date when the sun is closest to the earth

7-In Greek mythology, the goddess of the harvest is
a) Hestia
b) Demeter
c) Hera

8-Which of the following meteor showers occurs in November?
a) Perseids
b) Eta Aquarids
c) Leonids

9-In Latin, cornucopia means
a) Lots of corn
b) Horn of plenty
c) Basket of fruit

10-The first jack-o-lanterns were made from
a) Pumpkins
b) Turnips
c) Loaves of bread

You could also incorporate some fun Fall games as well. I'm betting an online search for fall themes would give you lots of ideas!

Here's some fall recipe ideas:
Autumn Fruit Salad

2 medium Granny Smith apples, cored and sliced
1 lime
1 can (11 oz) mandarin oranges, drained
1 cup halved seedless red grapes
1½ cups miniature marshmallows
1 carton (8 oz) vanilla lowfat yogurt
2 tablespoons nuts, chopped

Do not peel apples. Core and slice apples using A/P/C/S. Cut apple
slices into sixths. Zest lime using LZ/S. Combine apples, lime zest,
mandarin oranges, and grapes in CB. Add marshmallows and yogurt; mix
gently using SS.
Chop nuts using FC; sprinkle over salad. Refrigerate until ready to
serve.

Yield: 12 servings or 18 sample servings

Pumpkin Apple Dessert Pizza
----------------------------------------------------
Makes about 12 servings

Ingredients:
1 package (18 ounces) NESTLE TOLL HOUSE Refrigerated Sugar Cookie
Dough
1 cup LIBBY'S 100% Pure Pumpkin
3 ounces cream cheese, softened
3 tablespoons granulated sugar, divided
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup (1 small) peeled, cored and thinly sliced green apple
1/3 cup chopped walnuts
1 to 2 tablespoons caramel flavored ice cream topping

Directions:
PREHEAT oven to 350 F. Grease 12-inch pizza pan.

FREEZE cookie dough for 30 minutes; slice into 1/4-inch thick pieces
(about 32). Place slices, edges touching, on prepared pizza pan. Bake
for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven; prick
with fork. Cool on pan on wire rack.

COMBINE pumpkin, cream cheese, 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon in
small mixer bowl; mix until smooth. Spread over pizza crust to 3/4
inch from edge. Mix apple slices with remaining sugar and dash
cinnamon in small bowl; place on pizza. Sprinkle with nuts.

BAKE for 7 to 9 minutes; remove from oven. Drizzle with caramel
topping. Cut into wedges; serve warm.

NOTE: Recipe may be made in 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Bake crust at
350 F for 15 to 17 minutes; 9 to 11 minutes with apple topping.

Just some ideas! I'm sure there are more creative people on here to help, though! :)

wow thanks

Butterscotch Dip with Apple WedgesI have just had a fund raiser tonight and I did a couple of quick recipes while I was waiting for my main Dessert to cook - this was at home with my friends by the way, I wouldn't normally do more than one recipe! I did a Fudgey Fondue to show off the simple additions, and I did a PC recipe which was Butterscotch Dip and used Apple Wedges to dip - this went down really well. I had green and red apples in the Large SA Bowl in the middle of the table, and let guests use the Apple Wedger themselves. I think they enjoyed this more than the Waffle Berry Pudding!
