Has anyone had trouble using wonton wrappers in the mini muffin pan? I just made Asian-Style Wontons, and the wrappers came out of the oven all funny. They just didn't keep their shape in the cups, so some are flat, some are folded, and a few are okay. I didn't baste or spray them with oil, was that a crucial step?

At least the finished product tasted good, even if it wasn't picture perfect.

Yep! That was the problem! You have to brush them with the oil or butter like it says, because I've never had a problem with them keeping their shape and I use the butter or oil like it calls for! Next time try it, you'll see the difference!;) :) :balloon:

Thanks..I am making the Elegant Artichoke Cups tomorrow ( as a test..) before my show on Tuesday..So i'm glad I read this!

Frequently Asked Questions

What are wonton wrappers and how can I use them in a mini muffin pan?

Wonton wrappers are thin sheets of dough made from flour, water, and egg, commonly used in Asian cuisine. To use them in a mini muffin pan, simply press each wrapper into the cups of the pan to form a cup shape. You can then fill these cups with various ingredients, such as meats, vegetables, or cheeses, and bake them for a delicious appetizer or snack.

Why are my wonton wrappers not fitting well in the mini muffin pan?

If your wonton wrappers are not fitting well, it may be due to them being too dry or brittle. Make sure to keep the wrappers covered with a damp cloth while you work to prevent them from drying out. Additionally, you can lightly spray the muffin pan with cooking spray to help the wrappers adhere better and maintain their shape.

How do I prevent wonton wrappers from sticking to the mini muffin pan?

To prevent sticking, you can lightly grease the mini muffin pan with cooking spray or brush it with a little oil before placing the wonton wrappers in. This will create a non-stick surface and make it easier to remove the baked cups once they are done.

What temperature and time should I bake wonton wrappers in a mini muffin pan?

Typically, wonton wrappers should be baked at 375°F (190°C) for about 10-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Keep an eye on them to prevent over-baking, as they can become too hard if left in the oven for too long.

Can I use wonton wrappers for sweet recipes in a mini muffin pan?

Absolutely! Wonton wrappers can be used for sweet recipes as well. You can fill them with sweetened cream cheese, fruit, or chocolate, and bake them for a delightful dessert. Just remember to adjust the baking time as needed based on the filling you choose.
