My mom has wanted to buy one of the apple A/P/S for a couple of months and last week one of her friends knew a lady at church who would sell her an UNUSED one, with the stand for $10!!! So she grabbed it ande we used it today-pretty slick!!
The question is-it is the old one with the two handles for the different thickness of slice and I can't figure out how to get the red handle off and put the green one on! Anyone have this and can help me out??

Thanks in advance!!

Jill

I have both handles for mine. you need to use the wrench tool. (or another tool) put it in between the tines of the part where you put the apple, then turn it, that piece will come off. Then you can put the new one in and reattach the tines, and tighten then down with the wrench. You are just using the wrench for leverage, to help you turn

:) ThanksHmmm,

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the purpose of the red handle on the Apple A/P/S?

The red handle on the Apple A/P/S (Apple Peeler/Corer/Slicer) is designed for easy operation and control while using the tool. It helps users to securely grip the device while peeling, coring, or slicing apples efficiently.

How do I safely remove the red handle from the Apple A/P/S?

To safely remove the red handle, first ensure that the Apple A/P/S is not in use and is unplugged if it has an electric component. Locate the release mechanism, usually a button or latch near the handle, and press or pull it while gently lifting the handle away from the main body of the tool.

Is there a specific technique for reattaching the red handle?

Yes, to reattach the red handle, align it with the designated slots on the Apple A/P/S. Gently push the handle down until you hear a click, indicating that it is securely locked in place. Always check that it is firmly attached before using the tool.

What should I do if the red handle is stuck and won't come off?

If the red handle is stuck, try applying a small amount of food-safe lubricant around the base of the handle to help loosen it. Allow it to sit for a few minutes, then try to gently wiggle and pull the handle while pressing the release mechanism. If it still won’t budge, consult the user manual for troubleshooting tips.

Can I use the Apple A/P/S without the red handle?

While it is technically possible to use the Apple A/P/S without the red handle, it is not recommended. The handle provides essential support and control, making the peeling, coring, and slicing process safer and more efficient. Always use the tool as intended for the best results.
