Did you talk to your friend about having a catalog show for you? Or is she really wanting a kitchen show? One thing I've encouraged out of state catalog show hosts to do is still have a party where they invite their friends. If they happen to have PC products, she can put some out and they can play around with them. See if she'd feel comfortable making a few PC recipes beforehand to serve. Offer to be available by phone if questions come up.
Then at her party, she can pass catalogs around, go through it and have the guests talk about products. If some already have products, they can talk about what they like about them. It's a catalog show (although you can offer to count it as a kitchen show since she'd likely be providing food and recipes), but a good excuse to have a party and likely generate more orders than a regular catalog show. That's just a way to put a spin on it and hopefully make it a more successful show! Just a thought!
