I thought it might benefit everyone to have a list of ideas where they can get shows. It is ALWAYS best to get bookings from your show, but here are LOTS of ideas of where to get bookings outside of your shows. GREAT for those of you just getting started.

Katherine....you CAN do this! The best way to get started is to have an open house at your house....2 days back to back....one in the daytime and one in the evening. This is 2 shows. Personally invite EVERYONE and ask them to bring a friend. Then ask 2 friends to do a catalog show or kitchen show. This way you can qualify in your first month and you got to do the practice in your own home where you are most comfortable.

You MUST host coach yourself or have your recruiter or director host coach you for your open house or it will not go well. You must personally invite people, not just put a flier in their mailbox or on their door.

You CAN do this....everyone CAN....think POSITIVE!

Frequently Asked Questions

What are some effective ways to book shows as a new musician?

As a new musician, you can book shows by networking with local venues, reaching out to community events, and leveraging social media platforms. Consider hosting house concerts or collaborating with other artists to expand your reach. Additionally, creating a compelling press kit can help you present yourself professionally to potential venues.

How can I use social media to promote my shows?

Utilize platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok to share your music, upcoming shows, and behind-the-scenes content. Engage with your audience by posting regularly, using relevant hashtags, and creating event pages for your shows. Consider live streaming performances to reach a broader audience and encourage followers to share your events.

What types of venues should I target for booking shows?

Start by targeting smaller, local venues such as coffee shops, bars, community centers, and festivals. These places often support emerging artists and provide a more intimate setting for your performances. As you gain experience and a following, you can aim for larger venues and events.

How can I collaborate with other musicians to book shows?

Collaborating with other musicians can be beneficial for booking shows. Reach out to artists in your genre or local scene and propose joint performances or tours. This can help you tap into each other's fan bases and share the costs and logistics of booking venues.

What should I include in my press kit when approaching venues?

Your press kit should include a professional bio, high-quality photos, links to your music (such as streaming platforms), a list of past performances, and any press coverage or testimonials. Make sure to tailor your press kit to each venue, highlighting why your music would be a good fit for their audience.
