oh if it was a joke, I HATE when people joke about serious topics like suicide...It was a thread on "vista print" Becky, and it was kind of "wacky". Like I said I'm still not sure if it was a joke or not. If...oh if it was a joke, I HATE when people joke about serious topics like suicide...

I want to chime in and repeat KG's statement that the ignore list is your friend. As mentioned above, you really can get a good feel for some people's general outlook by what they post. If someone consistently rubs you the wrong way, or always has something negative to say (and rarely anything creative or helpful), go to their public profile and click the "add to your ignore list" link. You won't see what they post, but will be able to on a case by case basis if curiosity gets the better of you. Trust me- it'll help keep you sane and stress free.

Of course, this started out as a thread about Carolyn, and she's NOT on my ignore list. :D

OK. Now I'm paranoid. Is there a way to tell if people have put you on their ignore list?

(In addition to being a dateless non-meth head with chronic pain, I'm a people pleaser. I'd hate to be on an iggy list.)

Nope, no way to tell, unless you watch response patterns and see that there are some people who never respond to your posts. Or you send a PM and they don't respond to it. (You never see any PMs from people on your iggy list. So if you're on someone else's and you send them a message, they won't receive it.)

Glad I could be of service, although I don't know the answer to Jean's question. I don't think you need to be worried, Jean!

Hey, if it's long iggy lists or blood pressure meds, the iggy list is probably cheaper. :D

OK, now that there is 57 replies to this post, I had to be nosey and come back in and read...

I read it in the beginning to make sure Carolyn was OK, and then stopped reading. Thankfully, I missed this "wacky" thread you are all talking about. Hopefully I don't get too nosey and have to go find it! LOL

Jean...you aren't on my iggy list (well, honestly, no one is...yet!) but I am JUST LIKE YOU!! I am paranoid everytime folks start talking about it! I want everyone to like me (people pleaser, here, too!) so it makes me nuts! :p

I don't get it.

Glad I'm not the only one that feels this way. When I had asked a few questions in the past I felt attacked somewhat or my question/response would be turned around into something I didn't mean. I also see this alot from others that have posted and then the respose goes in a totally different direction that it shouldn't of gone. That is why I do more reading than posting.

Yes, she is sweet...but don't tell anyone...it might ruin her reputation!! And Carolyn....we are not a chronic mental ill bunch here on CS:D

Seriously, Carolyn is a sweetheart. She and many others make such positive contributions but there are those, that KG eluded to, that just can't stand anyone trying to turn things around to try and solve an issue. A few years back there was a phrase was popular and we heard it too much, but it cuts to the chase....try to be part of the solution and not part of the problem.

We all can see the negative side to any situation, but it is much more difficult and takes much more effort to try to solve a problem. And then to put your big girl (or big boy in KG's case) panties (or boxers in KG's case...or is it briefs???? T.M.I....never mind)....and put what needs to be done in to action...well that is just too difficult.

The defenders of the "we have a right to complain" don't get the fact that yes, we do have the right to complain, but then we need to take the responsibility to follow through and take action.

Jean...are you trying to cause problems? :D Wanna fight??? I'll put you on my iggy list!!!:)

Just kiddin....I have a short iggy list and if I get too curious, I just remove the person long enough to read the post and put them right back on. I think it is to re-affirm that they really need to be on there. Usually they just confirm my original reason for putting them on iggy in the first place!!!

That's what I love about this place - we goof around with each other, but we can also be serious. We really need to petition HO to have an all-CS wave of conference. Of course, nobody would learn anything, because we'd all be too busy socializing. Evening, day before conference:http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb315/chefann1138/smilies/oregonian_beersmiley1.gif
