Virtual Parties - Group Vs. Event - Pros & Cons?

In summary, a virtual party group is a gathering of individuals through a digital platform for socializing and activities, while a virtual party event is a more organized and themed gathering. The pros of a virtual party group include socializing with multiple people and a relaxed atmosphere, while the cons may include technical difficulties and distractions. A virtual party event has the advantage of being more organized and immersive, with unique elements, but may also have technical difficulties and require more planning.

Seems to be a mix of which to do. What are your pros & cons for each?

Groups are nice for the consultant because guests get notified about all posts until a guest turns the notifications off, the downfall is that the host has to hand type in all the invites, she can't see all her friends and click from the list to invite.Events are good only for people to check their events. The guests have to constantly check the events or turn on notifications. The host can easily invite people though.

I am in the last few days of my first Virtual Party set up as an event. A downside that I discovered to setting it up as an event is that I needed to adjust the party dates for the host, but since the event already started, Facebook wouldn't let me adjust it. I also find that sometimes if I need to go back and adjust a post I've made, the change doesn't get saved. Haven't used groups for a Virtual Party yet, so I can't speak one way or the other about that.

We’ve spent (I hate to think how much) on videoconferencing units in our company to try to cut travel times to meetings.
Sounds great in theory, but the technology never works when we need it to!

I've done both. In my experience events have had more interaction and more sales. I will also point out that many of us dislike being added to a group without our permission. If your host does that (you cannot control your host), it can backfire. People assume you're the one who did it. That's my opinion, which is worth what you've paid for it. ;)

1. What is the difference between a virtual party group and a virtual party event?

A virtual party group is a gathering of individuals through a digital platform, such as video conferencing, for the purpose of socializing and engaging in activities together. A virtual party event, on the other hand, is a more organized and planned virtual gathering, often with a specific theme or purpose, such as a birthday celebration or team building activity.

2. What are the pros of having a virtual party in a group?

The main advantage of a virtual party in a group is the ability to socialize and connect with multiple people at once, without the limitations of physical distance. It also allows for a more casual and relaxed atmosphere, as participants can join from the comfort of their own homes.

3. What are the cons of having a virtual party in a group?

Some potential downsides of a virtual party in a group include technical difficulties and the possibility of distractions or interruptions from other participants. It may also be more challenging to engage in certain activities or games in a group setting compared to an event setting.

4. What are the pros of having a virtual party event?

A virtual party event often has a more organized and structured approach, making it easier to plan and execute. It also allows for a more focused and immersive experience, as participants are all there for a specific purpose or theme. Additionally, virtual party events can include unique and interactive elements, such as virtual backgrounds or games.

5. What are the cons of having a virtual party event?

One potential downside of a virtual party event is the potential for technical difficulties or glitches, which can disrupt the flow of the event. It may also require more planning and coordination compared to a virtual party group. Additionally, virtual party events may not have the same level of casual and relaxed atmosphere as a group setting.
