KKCO-TV (the NBC Affiliate in Grand Junction) has done a story about the anniversary of Paige's disappearance. Other than a related story (in the Update thread today) this is the first indication I've seen of the media marking the anniversary of Paige's disappearance.Link: http://www.nbc11news.com/home/headlines/97350164.htmlThree Years Later: Where is Paige? It's been three years since Paige Birgfeld vanished. The mother of three led a secret life as an adult escort.

Email Address: [email protected]GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)_It's been three years since anyone has seen Paige Birgfeld’s smiling face, “Her children will release some balloons in her memory but other than that it's the empty void that's in the pit of your stomach everyday,” says Paige’s father Frank.Just where is Paige? That's what her family and investigators desperately want to know,
“We certainly we wish we could find her and then we wish those who harmed her are brought to justice,” says Frank. When Paige first went missing in the summer of 2007 a massive search effort was launched. Volunteers and law enforcement scoured the Grand Valley for any sign of Paige after her car was found on fire. Eventually they turned up a shoe, her checkbook and Blockbuster and insurance cards.Frank says, “At a time we felt we were active and making progress. Now we not only don't feel we're not making progress, but we feel with the silence of the police that it's butting your head against the wall.”Mesa County Sheriff Stan Hilkey says he understands Frank is frustrated but says his office hasn’t forgotten about Paige, “We're still waiting on testing that needs to be completed by CBI,” says Hilkey.Hilkey says much of that testing involves DNA AND CBI has a big backlog and an overloaded system. “We anticipate that this year all that testing will be complete,” says Hilkey.Until it is finished Hilkey says they won't be going to the District Attorney with any case against sole suspect Lester Ralph Jones. “The point has always been that it's really unreasonable for our DA to take this case and look at it and take it to a Grand Jury or anything until that testing is done,” says Hilkey. As investigators wait for lab reports to help build their case, Frank is making another plea to the community. He now believes there's a possibility Paige was dumped in or around Cedaredge in a pond that was under construction. He thinks Lester Ralph Jones and another man worked on the project. “Obviously that would have been an ideal place to dig a hole in the liner or in the dam or elsewhere so certainly anyone that knows anything would be helpful,” says Frank. As the Sheriff's Office, Paige's family and the community mark this sad three year anniversary there is one thing everyone agrees on. “We would love to see justice served for Paige Birgfeld,” says Hilkey.
