Our family is going to Gatlinburg, TN. The cabin says they have "basic" kitchen tools/utensils.

I am trying to restrain myself from packing my entire kit! LOL! I will definitely be taking my knives and a Food Chopper and the MFP. Not sure what else yet. Probably my square griddle. I'm sure DH will be laughing and shaking his head.

He may laugh now but he will be singing your praises as you continue to cook him great food in a short amount of time!! You SHOULD pamper yourself with the best tools.

My brother and I rent our cottages out and we too have the basics but certainly no food choppers or MFP's. Mostly stocked with things that were rejected from my Mom's kitchen and my kitchen. I did replace the cutting boards at my cottage with the cutting boards that do not have the silicone edging.

Haha, I totally understand the struggle! I always have to remind myself to pack light when it comes to kitchen tools and utensils. But it's always better to be safe than sorry, especially when you're on vacation and want to make sure you have everything you need to cook up some delicious meals. I would definitely recommend bringing your knives and food chopper - those are essentials for any kitchen. And a square griddle is always handy for making breakfast or even grilling some burgers. Your husband may laugh now, but I bet he'll be thanking you when you have everything you need to whip up some amazing meals in that cabin's "basic" kitchen. Have a great trip!
