P3 Sales Tax Confusion: Understanding Tax Laws for Cross-State Orders

In summary, sales tax is a government imposed tax on certain goods and services, calculated as a percentage of the total cost of the item and collected by the seller at the time of purchase. It is calculated by multiplying the purchase price by the applicable tax rate, which can vary based on location and the type of item. Sales tax is only collected on tangible goods in the United States and is not typically included in the advertised price of products. Those who are exempt from paying sales tax must provide a valid exemption certificate at the time of purchase.

I don't get the sales tax in P3. I closed my 5th show tonight. I have a neighbor in Boise that ordered a gift to be delivered to her daughter in CA. P3 made me charge CA sales tax on that order instead of ID tax where it was purchased.

I don't get it.

Sales tax is based on where the item is shipped to.

Tax is charged according to the shipping address - at least that is my understanding

Sales tax is charged according to where the item is being shipped to. I have a lot of customers who direct ship.

There is a spot next to the Tax Rate spot under that individual customer that you can click on "Manual" and enter in the tax rate you find when you look it up on Consultant's Corner.
