I like to add seasoning to the pork roast and put it in the crock pot. Then put some rootbeer around the meat in the crock pot and cook. When the meat is done I add some BBQ sauce and use the Hold 'N' Slice to shred the meat. It is really simple and it comes out tasting so good.
Got this recipe from a friend. It can be any kind of rootbeer.

I use a pork sirloin roast, as it is a lot less fatty than the butt that is traditionally used for pulled pork at home. My father in law does whole hog and has won some regional competitions. He uses traditional Eastern North Carolina vinegar sauce. Can't give out the recipe, he would not be happy with me, but it is so good!! Definitely an acquired taste.Anyways, I rub the roast with some Sweet and Smoky BBQ rub, cook in crockpot with just a scant 1/4 cup of water. I will have to try adding soda, I wonder how Dr Pepper would taste?? We had some BBQ sauce that was Dr Pepper sauce once, it was really good.We are fortunate, because we live less than 10 miles from a shop that sells sauces. They have a website:http://stores.thesauceshoppe.com/StoreFront.bok
