Help Needed: Recipe for Chocolate Cake & Peanut Butter

In summary, you can use any type of chocolate for the cake, but using high-quality chocolate will result in a richer cake. You can substitute almond butter for peanut butter, use gluten-free flour, and any type of cake pan as long as it is the correct size. You can also make this cake ahead of time and freeze it for up to 2-3 months.

Hi all,

I'm looking for the recipe for the chocolate cake and peanut butter on the front page of the new catelog. I had one but lost it and I was going to make it today for our traditional christmas tree decorating party. If anyone has it please email it to me at [email protected] with the ingredients and the directions. I would really appreciate it.

Thanks
Laurie

Hi Laurie,I don't have the exact recipe, but here's a similar one that you can try:Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butterDirections:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. In a separate bowl, mix together the water, vegetable oil, vinegar, and vanilla extract.
4. Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture and stir until well combined.
5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth out the top.
6. In a small bowl, microwave the peanut butter for about 30 seconds, or until it becomes a pourable consistency.
7. Drizzle the peanut butter over the cake batter and use a toothpick or knife to swirl it into the batter.
8. Bake the cake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
9. Let the cake cool before serving. Enjoy!Hope this helps and happy holidays!
