It looks like they are getting away from the spend x get y free.
 
Maybe they're just mixing it up a little.

On one hand, I like the "gift with purchase" type special because it encourages people to increase their order to get the freebie. Unless they already have it or aren't interested. Then they feel jipped.

On the other hand, many people at my shows complain that they have to spend $60 to get the freebie (tight economy around here). But they can take advantage of the savings with the "save" type specials.
