Null" Email Address Woes: Lending a Book

In summary, a "Null" email address is one that is either missing or invalid, and it is important to have a valid email address when lending a book as it is the primary form of communication with the borrower. If you receive a "Null" email address, it is best to request a valid one or find an alternative borrower. It is not recommended to use temporary or disposable email addresses when lending a book, as they can cause communication issues. To avoid receiving "Null" email addresses, clearly state the requirement for a valid email address and verify it before finalizing the lending process.

I lent a book apparently to the wrong email address. Reader says lent to "null" - do I have to wait for the exp date to get the book back to lend to the correct email address?

If you call B/N customer service they will reverse it for you. I did this once where I accidently lent the wrong book to someone....

1. What is a "Null" email address?

A "Null" email address refers to an email address that is either missing or invalid. This means that the email address either does not exist or is not in the correct format to receive emails.

2. Why do I need a valid email address when lending a book?

A valid email address is required when lending a book because it is the primary way of communicating with the borrower. This allows for easy communication and tracking of the book's status.

3. What should I do if I receive a "Null" email address from the borrower?

If you receive a "Null" email address from the borrower, you should reach out to them and request a valid email address. If they are unable to provide one, you may need to find an alternative way to lend the book or choose a different borrower.

4. Can I use a temporary or disposable email address when lending a book?

No, we do not recommend using temporary or disposable email addresses when lending a book. These types of email addresses are often unreliable and can result in communication issues with the borrower.

5. How can I avoid receiving "Null" email addresses when lending a book?

To avoid receiving "Null" email addresses, make sure to clearly state the requirement for a valid email address when lending a book. You can also verify the email address before finalizing the lending process to ensure it is valid and belongs to the borrower.
