Personal Newlyweds Moving to Victoria, TX - Need Help!

In summary, the conversation is about someone seeking help for their brother and his pregnant wife who recently moved to the Victoria, TX area. Due to the business boom in the area, they are struggling to find a place to live and are in need of assistance with finding housing, boarding their dogs, and finding a job. The person speaking offers to help by reaching out to their contacts and providing their contact information for the couple to connect with.

I was hoping there would be someone here from the Victoria, TX, area that could help me out. My brother and his new (pregnant) wife just moved to the area. He is stationed at Port O'Connor with the Coast Guard. With the business boom you guys are having in the area - apparantly a new factory being built and some sort of drilling project going on (I'm not looking to start any sort of environmental thread here, just what we've been told) the area seems to be growing in population much faster than it can accomodate. They are having a terrible time finding a place to live, a place to stay in the meantime until apartments come open, a place to board their dogs, she's looking for a job (of course, I've already put the PC bug in her ear:)) Anyone who could just give me information in general and might be willing to reach out to them to help them get a lay of the land, I'd really appreciate any help they could get. They just got married in October and are expecting their "honeymoon" baby in July and moved from Michigan - so literally across the entire country. They've been so excited about the move and everything going on in their lives and it's now looking like she may have to move back to Virginia with her folks for several months while they wait for a place to open up. Any help would be awesome! Thanks so much.

Sharon, I live in Victoria and would be happy to help in whatever way I can? I can put some feelers out and try to help them. Yes it is very hard to find rental property right now, are they looking to buy? I'll post on Facebook and see what I can come up with? I will message you my phone and info so they an connect with me.

Hi there! I'm sorry to hear that your brother and his wife are having a tough time finding a place to live in Victoria, TX. It sounds like the area is experiencing a lot of growth and it can be difficult to find housing in those situations. I don't live in Victoria, but I did a quick search and found that there are a few Facebook groups specifically for housing and job postings in the area. Maybe your sister-in-law could join those groups and see if anyone has any leads or recommendations for housing or job opportunities? Also, reaching out to the local Coast Guard base or even the Chamber of Commerce in Victoria might also provide some helpful resources. I hope everything works out for them and congratulations on the upcoming addition to your family!
