Prayer Warriors Needed: Help My Sick Daddy-O Recover from Serious Infection"

In summary, Phillipians 4:6-7 says to pray and petition with thanksgiving. This is good advice for anyone going through a difficult situation.

Hey all,

I don't post here often, but I've seen what you prayer warriors can do.....

My dad is sick. He was in the hospital over the weekend in southern Indiana (which, BTW, is NOT where he lives) because he had double vision. They determined that it's because of an infection in his ear/mastoid bone. He got tons of IV antibiotics, and was released.

Today, he saw an ENT. The ENT said that his infection was the worst he's ever seen, and he's lucky he didn't die over the weekend. He's sending him to an ear specialist and a neuro-opthamologist, because his vision still isn't back to normal.

Please pray that the ear specialist can fix it, or at least get rid of the infection. He's had ear problems for a while now, but never this bad. I'm worried about him.....

Thanks friends!

So sorry to hear this! Praying he gets better soon!

((((Hugs))))

I do hope he feels better soon!

What is it with ear infections this year? While not as bad as your Dad's, my little guy has had a really serious one that we've had a hard time kicking. He can hardly hear! And, I've heard of several others - children and adults - dealing with severe ear infections. :yuck:

I will most definitely be praying for your Dad. Are they putting him back in the hospital here, or is he home with antibiotics?

He's home with antibiotics, and strict orders to call the doctor immediately if the AB's give him, well, diarhea. Then he has to go back to the hospital.

Jean,

It's good to see your up-side-down smile. Praying for your dad!

Yuck!:yuck:

Poor Dad. I once had an inner ear infection - that was the greatest pain I've ever had - worse than childbirth...
Did they give him any kind of pain killer? When I had mine, they gave me Codeine...which made me hurl. Okay - I think I'm just making things worse. I'll just shut up and pray. :D

He doesn't have any pain. That's how the infection got so bad. He couldn't feel it.

He's had a mastoidectomy before...not sure if that factors into the no-pain thing or not. If he hadn't had double vision, and if that hadn't taken him to the ER, and if he hadn't gotten an on-the-ball doctor at the hospital in Jasper, IN, he would have never known he had an ear infection.

Sounds like God has him the palm of HIS Hand. Everything fell just so to ensure he get treated! Will pray that God continues HIS work and that all is well. Just believe it's taken care of. Will also ask HIM to help you out while you go through this with your Dad. Sending you good wishes from TX.

Prayers have been said.

I have been fighting ear problems since before Christmas! UGH! Trying to get back into the ENT this morning for some more help. Sitting here with a throbbing ear as I write.

Once again, ye prayer warriors can pat yerselves on the back!

He went to the ear specialist two hours away from our house last week. They declined surgery right away, and gave him antibiotic drops for his ear instead. They told him to come back this week, and if there was improvement, they'd hold surgery off for a while, otherwise he'd have to go right away.

So, he went back yesterday, and there are signs of improvement! And the CT scan he had last week shows no signs of the infection invading his brain. So now, he gets to go back in three weeks again for another check, and surgery in a couple of months or so.

On Wednesday, he put a St. Patricks Day sticker on his eye patch. At least his humor is still intact!

Oh, and today's his birthday...one which he was apparently lucky to have seen given how bad the infection was.

Thanks so much for your prayers! You guys rock!

Thanks everyone!

His infection has cleared up to the point that he doesn't need surgery! And his vision is coming back slowly.

Thanks prayer warriors!

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
