I am very intrigued about the Mediterranean Diet and I am wondering if anyone is following it.

LOL - I would LOVE to follow it, but cannot convince DH & DS to follow me!

I do try to adhere to alot of the principles of it though - very little red meat, lots of fish, lots of veggies, small amounts of dairy - mostly as yogurt and cheese, and olive oil in place of other fats.

hm, so is it similiar to like the South Beach? I did that one and it worked for awhile but then my body got stuck in a plateau.

I could so do it - I love that type of cooking. I had a steak for the first time in months on Sat night and I said to myself that you know it was good but I could easily give it up. I love love seafood, veggies, salsas, taboulleh, things like that. Its getting my DH and the rest of the family to go along that is the problem and I cant and refuse to cook two different eals everynight. For awhile it would work, but it would get old fast.

I need to do more research.

I have been having a hard time with minimizing the protein on this eating plan. I love chicken, steak and pork. Going to gradually adjust my eating into this and see what happens.

3. Are there any restrictions on the Mediterranean Diet?

The Mediterranean Diet is not a restrictive diet and does not eliminate any food groups entirely. However, it does recommend limiting red meat, processed foods, and sweets to small portions and enjoying them less frequently.

4. Is the Mediterranean Diet suitable for vegetarians or vegans?

5. How can I incorporate the Mediterranean Diet into my lifestyle?

The Mediterranean Diet is not a strict meal plan but rather a way of eating that can be easily incorporated into your lifestyle. Some simple tips to follow include focusing on whole, unprocessed foods, using herbs and spices for flavor instead of salt, and incorporating daily physical activity. It's also essential to enjoy meals with friends and family and to savor and appreciate the flavors of your food.
