Looking for a 90's Breakfast Casserole Recipe? Try this Southern Delight!

In summary, a possible recipe for the breakfast casserole described in the conversation could be an Easy Sausage and Biscuit Breakfast Casserole or a Southern Breakfast Casserole, both of which include canned biscuits, eggs, onions, and sausage. The dishes are typically baked in a deep dish baker and take around 30 minutes to cook.

I have a customer who is looking for a breakfast "casserole" type recipe that was done as a demo at a show she was at in the 90's. I was a consultant back then but nothing is coming to mind. She said it had canned biscuits, eggs, onions, and sausage or bacon. Probably done in the deep dish baker. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

One possible recipe that fits the description is an Easy Sausage and Biscuit Breakfast Casserole. This dish includes canned biscuits, eggs, sausage, onion, and cheese. It is baked in a 9x13 inch baking dish. To make this casserole, you will need:-1 (12 ounce) package breakfast sausage-1/2 cup chopped onion-2 cups shredded cheddar cheese-2 (12 ounce) cans refrigerated buttermilk biscuits-6 eggs-1/2 cup milkInstructions:1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).2. Cook the sausage and onion in a skillet over medium heat until the sausage is crumbly, evenly browned, and no longer pink. Drain off any excess grease.3. Spread the sausage and onion mixture in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle 1 cup of the cheese over the sausage. Cut the biscuits into quarters and arrange on top of the cheese.4. Beat together the eggs and milk. Pour over the biscuit pieces. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.5. Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until golden brown and eggs are set. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!

One possibility could be a "Southern Breakfast Casserole" which typically includes canned biscuits, eggs, onions, sausage or bacon, and cheese. Here is a recipe for reference:Ingredients:- 1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated flaky buttermilk biscuits- 8 eggs- 1/2 cup milk- 1/2 tsp salt- 1/4 tsp black pepper- 1 lb breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled- 1 small onion, diced- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheeseInstructions:1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).2. Grease a deep dish baker with cooking spray.3. Roll out the biscuits and cut them into quarters.4. Place the biscuit pieces in the bottom of the baker.5. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper together.6. Pour the egg mixture over the biscuits in the baker.7. Sprinkle the cooked sausage, diced onion, and shredded cheese on top of the egg mixture.8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the eggs are set and the cheese is melted and bubbly.9. Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!

1. Where can I find an old recipe?

You can find old recipes in a variety of places, such as cookbooks, family recipe collections, old newspapers and magazines, and online recipe databases. You can also ask family and friends if they have any old recipes they can share with you.

2. How do I know if an old recipe is authentic?

Authenticity can be difficult to determine with old recipes, as they may have been passed down and altered over time. However, you can look for clues such as the source of the recipe (e.g. a family member or a historically significant cookbook), the ingredients used, and any historical context provided. You can also cross-reference the recipe with other sources to see if there are any discrepancies.

3. Is it safe to use an old recipe?

It depends on the condition of the recipe and the ingredients used. If the recipe is from a reliable source and the ingredients are still commonly used today, it should be safe to use. However, it is always a good idea to exercise caution and follow proper food safety guidelines when preparing any recipe.

4. Can I modify an old recipe?

Yes, you can modify an old recipe to suit your tastes or dietary restrictions. However, it is important to keep in mind that the original recipe may have been created with certain ingredients and proportions in mind, so any modifications may affect the final result. It is always a good idea to test the modified recipe before serving it to others.

5. How do I convert old measurements to modern measurements?

Old recipes may use different units of measurement than what we commonly use today. To convert old measurements to modern ones, you can use a conversion chart or online converter. Keep in mind that these conversions may not always be exact, so it is best to use your judgment and adjust as needed while cooking.
