Where to Find an Affordable Train Cake Pan for a Child's Birthday?

In summary, the person is looking for a train cake pan, preferably a Thomas pan, but any pan will do. They found a website that has a Train Cake Recipe, and another website with a gallery of train cake photos. They also found a forum with many chef success stories.

Hi everyone I am looking for a train cake pan perferably Thomas but any train pan will do. This is for my son's second birthday and I have not had much luck finding a pan . I did look on Ebay but some of the Thomas pans are going for like $30 which is crazy.
Thanks
Michelle

Make the cake in the Mini Loaf Pan and decorate them like a train.http://jas.familyfun.go.com/recipefinder/display?id=50112http://familyfun.go.com/Resources/Cakes/recipes/special/choochoo.jpg

I have http://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/sku8239147/index.cfm pan, and LOVE it! :) It's well worth the money spent!

I have the W-S pan, too. Got it on sale for like $15 once. :)

I was totally going to tell her to try that! ;)

My oldest son had a Thomas birthday when he turned 2 and I did his cake. I used a square cake pan, iced green with some grass, and a track running diagonally across the middle. Then I put some new Thomas Take Along trains on the tracks. It was super easy and quick to make and the trains were like an extra gift for him. Good luck!

Here's the train cake I made my son for his 5th birthday - it really wasn't that hard.

I also bought cake pans on ebay - used them - then sold them on ebay, sometimes for more than I bought it!

It's just a little loaf cake - I didn't hollow it, just backed up the trains to it and the track part of the cake is 2 horseshoe shaped cakes. I borrow lots of ideas from the website Search Results for " coolestbirthdaycakes.com " Also, see this thread: http://www.chefsuccess.com/f18/baking-today-25789/ many cheffers have posted thier cakes here.

What is the "Iso Train Cake Pan" and how does it work?

The "Iso Train Cake Pan" is a special cake pan designed to help you create a train-shaped cake for your child's birthday. It is made of high-quality, non-stick metal and features a unique "isometric" design that allows you to easily assemble the cake into a 3D train shape.

Can I use any cake recipe with the "Iso Train Cake Pan"?

Yes, you can use any cake recipe with the "Iso Train Cake Pan". However, we recommend using a dense cake recipe, such as pound cake, as it will hold its shape better when assembled into the train shape.

How many servings does the "Iso Train Cake Pan" make?

The "Iso Train Cake Pan" can make up to 12 servings, depending on the size of the slices. This is perfect for a small to medium-sized birthday party.

Can I decorate the train cake with frosting and decorations?

Absolutely! The "Iso Train Cake Pan" comes with a decorating guide to help you create the perfect train design. You can use frosting, candies, and other decorations to make your train cake even more special and personalized.

Is the "Iso Train Cake Pan" dishwasher safe?

Yes, the "Iso Train Cake Pan" is dishwasher safe. However, we recommend hand washing it with warm, soapy water to prolong its lifespan and maintain its non-stick coating.
