I'm Terrible but It Was a Booking..

In summary, Erin's sister is in the hospital and she offers to bring in her Tuxedo Brownie Cups to some of her nurses. Two of the nurses are interested in having a party with Erin, and she is going to send them recipes and a new catalog when it comes out.

So my sister is the hospital for a few days (she'll be okay though) and she just happens to be on the floor that she work on (she's a nurse's assistant).

We were supposed to have a big picnic today but it got cancelled due to her hospital stay/weather. I had already made about 100 tuxedo brownie cups and didn't want to eat them myself.

So...I brought them in to her room and offered them up to a couple of her nurses, assistants, etc. Needless to say two girls said "oh I love Pampered Chef..I really want to get xyz but I don't want to spend the money" So I chime in with..."you really should have a party and get them for free or half price". Both girls said they would love to have a party with me the next time I come home. Yeah...so that is 5 potential hosts lined up for my next visit to CT. I am going to send all of them a recipe here and there and a new catalog when it comes out to keep PC fresh in their minds.

Thanks to my sister for taking one for the team.

Great thinking... Nurses LOVE it when people feed them! How long until you are home next? When do you head back to Guam?

Sounds great!!! Good luck!

Katie,

I head back on July 23rd. I came home on May 24th so it has been a nice trip. I am hoping to come back in November again...it is depending on my husband's next deployment.

Tuxedo Brownie Cups? Newbie here - please tell me more.

Erin--that is fantastic. My director was in a very serious car accident last year. As she was recuperating in the hospital with a broken pelvis, ankle and many, many bruises, she was not only selling to the nurses, but to visitors who came to visit patients!!!!!

Hey, I guess there is alway time to offer up PC products/business to everyone.

Grayby,

Tuxedo brownie cups are a recipe in the Celebrate cookbook which has since been retired. I made them at a cooking show and my family and the show loved them so much that I have been making them as a second recipe at select cooking shows and for every event I have been invited to per request. I think if you search in our files section there is a recipe for them. If not let me know and I'll get you one. I really like them and they showcase quite a few tools.

Couldn't find it in a search either her nor CC. I'd really like the recipe if it's not too much trouble. Thanks in advance.

Grayby,

Here is the recipe...since I don't think they can buy it in a cookbook...I have (with the advice from my chef success friends) posted the recipe on my website and lead people there to find it. Hopefully they will want to host a show and contact me or buy more products too!!!!

Tuxedo Brownie Cups Recipe (From my cooking shows)
(Celebrate! Cookbook, pg. 100)
Dressed-up and irresistible, these filled brownie cups just might become the life of the party!

1 package (19-21 ounces) fudge brownie mix
(plus ingredients to make cake-like brownies)
2 squares (1 ounce each) white chocolate for baking
2 tablespoons milk
1 package (8ounces) cream cheese, softened
¼ cup powdered sugar
1 cup thawed, frozen whipped topping
1 pint fresh small strawberries, sliced
Orange zest, mint leaves, and melted semi-sweet chocolate for baking (optional)

1.Preheat oven to 325°F. Spray cups of Deluxe Mini-Muffin Pan with nonstick cooking spray for baking. Prepare brownie mix according to package directions for cake-like brownies. Using Small Scoop, place 1 level scoop of batter in each cup, filling cups 2/3 full. Bake 14 minutes or until edges are set. Do not overbake.

2. Remove pan to Stackable Cooling Rack. Immediately press tops of brownies with Mini-Tart Shaper to make indentations. Cool in pan 15 minutes. Loosen edges and gently remove brownies from pan. Cool completely. Wash pan, spray with cooking spray and repeat baking with remaining batter. (I personally do not cool the pan completely and wash even when only using one pan.)

3. Microwave white chocolate and milk in Small Micro-Cooker, uncovered, on HIGH 1 minute; stir until smooth. Cool slightly. In Classic Batter Bowl, combine cream cheese and powdered sugar; mix well. Gradually stir in white chocolate mixture until smooth. Fold in whipped topping.

4.Fill Easy Accent Decorator fitted with closed start tip with cream cheese mixture. Pipe cream cheese mixture into cooled brownie cups. Slice strawberries using Egg Slicer Plus; arrange on tops of brownie cups. Garnish with orange zest and mint leaves or drizzle with melted semi-sweet chocolate, if desired. Place in airtight container and refrigerate 1-3 hours before serving.

You can make the brownie cups a day in advance but DO NOT make the filling mixture up ahead of time and put it in the fridge. It becomes too hard and even "thawed" out does not work with the easy accent decorator. Trust me on this. ENJOY!!!!!

The brownie cups are wonderful...you will love them.

I asked her if she wanted to do a catalog show and she said she really wanted to do a cooking show because she just bought her mother's house and they are fixing it up. She figured it would be done this fall so that is why she wanted to have the cooking show!!!! Luckily I went to high school with this girl so I know her also.

Thanks for the advice.
