Maximize Your Facebook Experience: A Beginner's Guide to Using Your New Account

In summary, the conversation is about using Facebook and its various features. The speakers discuss how they signed up for an account and what they use it for, including finding old classmates and connecting with friends. Carla, me too!!! Although, I'm hating Bingo right now, because I haven't been winning lately.

Sadly, I'm even more addicted to PackRat, and can play that for hours (assuming, of course, I find anything worth stealing or buying).

What's your Facebook name? I'll add you as a friend. I'd tell you to find me under Sarah Rodriguez, but that wouldn't help you at all!

ETA: I just looked. There are 431 listings for Sarah Rodriguez!

I've never heard of packrat, but I've DEFINATELY gotta find the roulette!

I'm listed under Carla Wiegand - in the U.S. I know there's another one in the U.K. who I've also got on my friends list. LOL

Do it, do it!!! I've also gotten sucked into roulette (my absolute favorite casino game), but now I'm going to start using it as a reward when I spend "x" amount of time on organizing my office or making "x" phone calls!!!

Ok......which roulette??!? I did a search and like 2 or 3 came up!:grumpy:

There is a way to include a maiden name. I included my maiden name in there just to cover all the bases, but it's in my full name. OR I thought there was an option to include a maiden name so it comes up on searches but isn't shown in your "real" name that's on your page.

Hit the 'ACCOUNT' button at the top right corner and there's a spot to add your maiden name.

Don't do PackRat... it's toooo addictive! My daughter was playing with her doll house and the "mommy" was cooking dinner and then said (via DD, of course) "Let me just check my rats while that is microwaving... I need a pineapple!"

Out of the mouth of babes....

Found it!! I added it, but it's good it doesn't show up unless someone plugs it in. Two friends so far, sad! :) If you want to add me I'm under Adriana Sanchez and I just added the pix from dream patrol, with the mangos in the background (my mom!!) & my roses. In case you come accross 100's with the same name. :)

I will send you a request Becky!

I just started on Facebook. How do you get to the games? I have no clue what I am doing. I wanted to keep in touch with old friends & distant relatives. I have them all over the place. Can anyone help me out?

  • #65
Go to Applications on the bottom left and then click 'find more'. There are many catagories there including gaming. It may not be the correct way to do it but it's the only way I know :)

Oh yes, it's not a good thing. I'm addicted. I forget how I found it, but if you go to main page, there might be a thing you can click on to go there yourself. I'm not sure. It's one of the applications.

I like Scramble. If I start play gambling I won't want to get up and go to work...

I am addicted to YoVille. I would love to have some cheffers on my crew....
My name is under Kristin Ebert Dahlstrom.

I like it much better than myspace because I dont have to read through glitter and it just seems more grown-up I use it for my other "business" and have had a blast re-connecting with friends I had totally forgotten about! Found cousins too that I had grown apart from. I really like it! I'm under Cindy Taylor if you want to look for me! (Probably lots with my name.....).

What do you do if hosts are on FB and they set up their show as an event and send out invites that way either in place of the PWS E-vites or in addition to? Can we get in trouble for this?

Dawn

  • #75
My understanding is, yes you can if she posted a link to your website. I'm not sure if you would get in trouble if she just created an event without a link to your site. That's just her telling people she's hosting a show, it doesn't give you any advantage over any other consultant.

I LOVE facebook, I am an addict and need HELP!!!!!!!

Facebook is awesome. You can use it for so many things, but be aware that thing that you post in "your name' IS... are submitted to everyone on your friend list. Use some judgment, but have fun!

How do I "un-invite" someone? My email linked me with a past host that I really like and turns out the email was her hubby's. He is a nice guy and all but I am not sure that i want to continue to "talk" with him. He only started "talking" to me tonight. But is there a way to "un-invite" that isn't rude?

I am thinking probably not...but one never does know.

PS. I am under Chris Moshier. I think...I am still new at this.

You can go to your Friends list, and on the right of the name, there's a little X you can use to delete a friend. They will not receive any kind of a notice that you did so, you'll just disappear from their friend list. Just make sure that your profile is then set to whatever settings you want (visible to friends only, friends of friends, your network or everyone).

I LOVE FB - I think I only have a few Cheffer friends though...
