The discussion centers around finding 9 oz cake mixes, specifically for making pecan chocolate cakes in prep bowls. Jiffy is noted as a primary brand for these mixes, but availability can vary regionally. A product locator on the Jiffy website assists in finding local retailers. An alternative suggestion is to purchase an 18 oz cake mix, use a kitchen scale to measure out half, and save the remaining mix. Duncan Hines also offers a 9 oz "Snack-Size" cake mix, which includes cupcake mixes found in some Walmart locations. Users are sharing their experiences and seeking tips on making the pecan chocolate cakes.
Re: recipesThe 9 oz cake mixes are usually made by Jiffy. It seems that many of their products are regional. They do have a product locator on their website though:
Re: recipesAt my Walmart, I found the Duncan Hines Cupcake Mixes. They have vanilla and chocolate cake varieties and they are 9 oz packages. They weren't exactly right with the regular cake mixes, they were over a little and near the cupcake toppings and candles.
