Minimizing Grease Waste: Tips for Prep Bowls

In summary, grease waste in prep bowl refers to excess grease and oil left behind after cooking or preparing food. It is best to let it cool and solidify, then throw it in the trash and not down the drain. It is not recommended to reuse the grease waste as it can harbor bacteria and affect food taste. It is recommended to clean the prep bowl after every use to prevent buildup, and using a paper towel or strainer can help prevent excess grease from entering the bowl.

Great idea!

Oooh - that is 1 step better than what I do!We keep a jar for grease and when it fills up, we throw it out and start another one. We like using Mayo jars since the mouth is bigger. But they have gone to plastic jars which is not good for pouring HOT grease into it. So, I DO use our prep bowl to pour the grease into to let cool, then pour it into the jar. I like the idea about the foil.

I use a spaghetti sauce jar and keep it in the freezer with the lid on until it is full. Easy disposal, and it hold a lot.
