In Summary, the Lord is with us, and He is mighty to save us. He will take great delight in us, and will quiet our fears.

GOD IS IN CONTROL Twila Paris

This is no time for fear
This is a time for faith and determination
Don't lose the vision here
Carried away by emotion
Hold on to all that you hide in your heart
There is one thing that has always been true
It holds the world together

God is in control
We believe that His children will not be forsaken
God is in control
We will choose to remember and never be shaken
There is no power above or beside Him, we know
God is in control, oh God is in control

History marches on
There is a bottom line drawn across the ages
Culture can make its plan
Oh, but the line never changes
No matter how the deception may fly
There is one thing that has always been true
It will be true forever

He has never let you down
Why start to worry now?
He is still the Lord of all we see
And He is still the loving Father
Watching over you and me

watching over you...watching over me..
watching over every things..
watching over you..watching over me..
every little sparrow..every little things...

Diane - Twila is one of my all time favorites....Here is an older song by her, but one that has ministered to me through many dark days.

DO I TRUST YOU? by Twila Paris

Sometimes my little heart can't understand
What's in Your will, what's in Your plan.
So many times I'm tempted to ask You why,
But I can never forget it for long.
Lord, what You do could not be wrong.
So I believe You, even when I must cry.
Do I trust You, Lord?
Does the river flow?
Do I trust You, Lord?
Does the north wind blow?
You can see my heart,
You can read my mind,
And You got to know
That I would rather die
Than to lose my faith
In the One I love.
Do I trust You, Lord?
Do I trust You?

I know the answers, I've given them all.
But suddenly now, I feel so small.
Shaken down to the cavity in my soul.
I know the doctrine and theology,
But right now they don't mean much to me.
This time there's only one thing I've got to know.

Do I trust You, Lord?
Does the robin sing?
Do I trust You, Lord?
Does it rain in spring?
You can see my heart,
You can read my mind,
And You got to know
That I would rather die
Than to lose my faith
In the One I love.
Do I trust You, Lord?
Do I trust You?

I will trust You, Lord, when I don't know why.
I will trust You, Lord, till the day I die.
I will trust You, Lord, when I'm blind with pain!
You were God before, and You'll never change.
I will trust You.
I will trust You.
I will trust You, Lord.
I will trust You
.

I love Twila! Her vocal range is about the same as mine, so most of her songs I can sing!!

Diane- God is in Control is one of my favorites of hers!

Becky- the one you posted, I am not sure if I have heard. I love the lyrics and the message, though!

Um, yeah...you are probably at least 10 yrs younger than me, so probably don't know it. It's from the early 80's. I was in college at the time, and dealing with my younger brother's sudden death, and the divorce of my parents, and the break-up with my fiance(yep, all at the same time!).....so sometimes I would just sit and listen to this song over and over and over. It still comes to mind when I have a difficult time - I still know it by heart. That song was my lifeline and my creed. I really believe God gave me that song so that I could keep my focus on Him, and make sense of all the craziness of my life.

God uses song in so many ways...He used it to call me back to him after not attending church for over 10-15 years! Without that, I would not have a personal relationshipe with Christ. Maybe we should start a thread of how we came to know Him....I'll bet there are some awesome testimonies out there!

I sing and lead worship in church, so songs speak to me more than anything else. I am currently playing Fernando Ortega on my iPod.Love Twila Paris and I know both of these songs. :) Thanks for sharing them today. Here's one that is speaking to me, based on Zephaniah 3:17
17 The LORD your God is with you,
he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing."You Are Being Loved By Steven Curtis ChapmanDo you think love is only for the good enough?
And one thing you're never gonna be worthy of.
But there's a song being sung over you
By the one who breathed life into you.You are being loved.
You are being loved.
Right now at this very moment,
you are being loved.
You are being loved.
Right now you are being loved, loved loved.
You are being loved, loved, you are.You ought to see the smile you're bringing to your father's face.
You ought to hear him sing his version of "Amazing grace"
Cuz that's the song being sung over you,
by the God who breaths life into you...Chorusand with every breath that you're taking
and every beat of your heart
even while this song is playing whatever you do wherever you are.
There's a song being sung over you...ChorusYou are loved, loved loved, you are being loved, loved, you are
You are being, you are being, you are being loved.
You are being, you are being, you are being loved.
Right nowThere's a song being sung over you There's a song being sung over you There's a song being sung over you There's a song being sung over youYou are being loved, you are being loved
(there's a song being sung over you)
You are being loved, you are being loved
(there's a song being sung over you)
You are being loved, you are being loved
(There's a song being sung over you)
You are being loved, you are being loved

Second, wow...what a rough time!!!! I'm glad you're long through it and the person you are today!

Thanks Janet - I am who I am, because of God's grace and mercy. During that time in my life, God also gave me some great friends and mentors...and it was always put before me that I could choose to give in to the grief and anger and bitterness, or I could choose God. I would be a much different person today if I had made different choices. It makes my heart so full to look at DH & DS, and to completely realize, and know without a doubt that they are God's gifts.

Here is a verse that also has great meaning in my life - love this verse!

Isaiah 32:17

And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever

Thanks for that verse, Becky. I'm reading it as I listen to You Never Let Go by Matt Redman and now I'm crying....

Here's my song♪♫ ♪ ♫ At first I was alone, I was petrified
Thinking how I was to live without you by my side
But then I spent so many nights thinking how you did me wrong
And I grew strong, and I learned how to get along

But now you're back
From outer space
I just walked in to find you here with that sad look upon your face
I should have changed that stupid lock
I should've made you leave your key
If I'd have known for just one minute you'd be back to bother me

Go on now go- walk out the door---

Oh wait, sorry wrong song....

Call on Jesus by Nicole C. Mullins

Verse 1:
I'm so very ordinary, nothing special on my own.
Oh, I have never walked on water,
And I have never calmed a storm.
Sometimes I'm hiding away from the madness around me
Like a child who's afraid of the dark

Chorus:
But when I call on Jesus,
All things are possible
I can mount on wings like eagles' and soar
When I call on Jesus,
Mountains are gonna fall
'Cause He'll move heaven and earth to come rescue me when I call

La la la la la, la la la la la

Verse 2:
Weary brother, broken daughter,
widowed, widowed lover, you're not alone
If you're tired and scared of the madness around you
If you can't find the strength to carry on

Chorus:
When you call on Jesus,
All things are possible
You can mount on wings like eagles' and soar
When you call on Jesus,
Mountains are gonna fall
'Cause He'll move heaven and earth to come rescue you when you--

Bridge:
Call Him in the mornin', in the afternoon time
Late in the evenin' He'll be there
When your heart is broken,
And you feel discouraged,
You can just remember that He said
He'll be there

Chorus (2x):
When I call on Jesus,
All things are possible
I can mount on wings like eagles' and soar
When I call on Jesus,
Mountains are gonna fall
'Cause He'll move heaven and earth to come rescue me (back to top first time, 2nd time finish with "when I call")

La la la la la, la la la la la, la la la la la-a-a

I know this is odd and totally unrelated in a way, but it does have to do with songs.I turn on the news while I am making DD's lunch in the a.m...this morning of course the only thing they could talk about was Ted K. Well, right as I was about to shut off the TV, someone said, "he loves to laugh".Well, of course, that did it for me...all the way to drop of the kids I was singing in my head..."I love to laugh...ha-ha-ha-ha...loud and long and free..."

LOL Kacey.Love both songs. :D

1. How can I trust that God is in control when there is so much suffering in the world?

Suffering is a difficult reality to grapple with, but we must remember that God is not the cause of suffering. He is a loving God who is with us in our pain and uses it to shape us and draw us closer to Him. Trusting in His unfailing love means believing that He is working all things for our good, even in the midst of suffering.

2. What does it mean to trust in God's unfailing love?

Trusting in God's unfailing love means having faith that no matter what we are going through, God is with us and will never abandon us. It means believing that His love for us is constant and unwavering, even when we may not understand His plans for our lives.

3. How can I let go of control and trust that God is in control?

Letting go of control and trusting in God can be a difficult process, but it starts with surrendering our own desires and plans to Him. We must also spend time in prayer and reading the Bible to strengthen our faith and remind ourselves of God's promises. Surrounding ourselves with a supportive Christian community can also help us trust in God's control.

4. Can I still make plans and have goals while trusting in God's control?

Yes, we can still make plans and have goals while trusting in God's control. However, it is important to remember that ultimately, it is God who directs our steps and we must be open to His leading. We should also be willing to let go of our plans if God has a different path for us.

5. How can I overcome fear and anxiety and trust in God's control?

Fear and anxiety can be overwhelming, but we must remember that God is bigger than our fears. Praying and seeking guidance from God can help us trust in His control. We can also focus on His past faithfulness and remind ourselves of His promises to never leave us or forsake us.
