forThose of You Who Know That I've Been Sick ...

In summary, the doctor found that I have a double ear infection and gave me antibiotics. They also found that I had a sinus infection and respiratory infection 1 month ago and gave me a 5 day antibiotic.

Today was day #12 for me, day #13 for my 1 year old & day #14 for my 2 year old. The 2 year old seems to be on the tail end of it, but I started having ear problems (clogged & can't hear!) on Friday. I noticed my 1 year old (who's done teething) rubbing his ears last night. So today we all went to the Dr. They did a chest x-ray on me, since I seem to still have this lingering cough & it was "cloudy". I also have a double ear infection ... no pain, so I had NO clue! They gave me some antibiotics for the chest cloudiness and the EI's. There has been a LOT of sleep deprivation going on with me the last 2 weeks not feeling well myself & having 2 sick babies (hubby's gone on a military thing ... so it's just me). I guess having the cold down in my chest and 2 EI's explains why I've been feeling like crap lately! ;)

My 1 year old has one EI, but was rubbing the opposite ear the whole appointment, so apparently it's not hurting him either. She did say that he had some fluid on the ear he was rubbing, so I guess that was bothering him. Both the kids received antibiotics as well.

HOPEFULLY we can kick this silly bug now and I can get back to concentrating on PC and not on napping every chance I get!!! :p

Hope you all feel better soon. Just remember to finish the full course of antibiotics!

Oh, yes. I do NOT want this again. ;) It's only a 5 day dose, so it should be easy enough. The kids have a 10 day dose. But my 2 year old LOVES her medicine, so she'll be sure to remind me that she needs it! LOL

Hope you all feel better soon Sheila. I know what it's like to have a house full of sick children and yourself sick too.

Thanks Julie. When you add on the "hubby's gone" factor, it really gives you the motivation to keep everyone healthy! Not having an extra pair of hands is rough with everyone in the house sick! ;)The kids are down for a nap, I'm headed that way too! LOL

Oh Sheila, sorry to hear you've been sick and hoping you recover asap. It's definitely harder when all 3 of you are sick, and you are the only one around. =(

I got hit hard the 1st week of April (sinus infection, respiratory infection and the flu). I also took the 5 day antibiotic....took all of it and am STILL feeling gross. I now have an infection and ulcer on my cornea added to my misery. I have no eyeglasses so I've been working with only one good eye!

Praying for both of us....can't remember what it feels like to feel "normal".

Wow, Sheila, and Laurie....praying that both of you are feeling better again SOON!

I totally understand where you are coming from (Laurie - your quote "can't remember what it feels like to feel normal" really resonated!) because in Sept. I got a cold, which turned into bronchitis, and then into full blown pneumonia....and it was JANUARY before I actually felt somewhat normal again. During that time my little guy was also sick - in fact, we got a notice from school warning us that he was missing too many days!

It was a rough time! Hang in there, take care of yourselves...and rest! (I know, easier said than done!) Don't be afraid to ask for help from friends. That was a bit hard for me, but my friends were my lifesavers!

Thanks Becky! I remember when you got sick last year, and how much harder you had to work. The kids are also showing signs of their allergies possibly becoming this funk, and I keep praying they're able to beat it. I won't wish this on people much less my kiddos! =)

It has been hard to stay interested in the biz, but I have managed to trudge along even if it's been with weak motivation. I am now winking a lot, and joke with the crowd that my eye involuntarily winks everytime someone attractive is near. They love it and are understanding.

If I'm still feeling like this by the end of the week, I'll be heading back to the MD. I already am seeing an eye specialist every other day...he spooked me and told me I was at risk at losing my eye!! As much as I could try and bring the pirate look back, bling up an eye patch....I would much prefer to keep it.

Thanks for the kindness and encouragement. Rest sounds divine, but is not in the cards for me.....one day, one day.

Praying for you. That is tough!!!!! Praying that you get the rest you need, and the medicine does what it is supposed to do (in everyone).
